The SpoilerTV Favourite TV Series Competition 2016 - Day 29 - Quarter-Finals

Hey all,

After a couple of days off, we're back today with the quarter-finals, and we're missing some big names. First and foremost, Game of Thrones, which was eliminated by Leverage in the third round in an impressive display. There's a reason that it's a seeded show: Clearly, a lot of fans love it. Both Buffy and its spinoff Angel lost out, to Veronica Mars and Outlander, respectively; How to Get Away With Murder was defeated by Agent Carter; and Fringe couldn't quite make it past three-time winner Supernatural. Some good match-ups in that third round yielded some surprising results - remember, anything can happen in this competition, which means that if you want your show to win, get the word out there!

Anyway, let's get into the last eight.

Defending champion Person of Interest gets its toughest challenge yet in the form of Agent Carter. The ABC drama has already knocked out two seeded shows in its journey so far; could it do the unthinkable and beat the show tipped by many to reclaim its crown? Next up is a fascinating battle between Major Crimes and Outlander. Major Crimes has adopted a tendency to surprise in the site's competitions over the past year, and beating the 2014 winner would be just another step in that. It's certainly capable, I feel, but it'll be far from easy.

The surprise of the third round, Leverage, then takes on The Librarians in an all-TNT duel. Difficult to call this one. Both shows have proven a willingness to compete in the competition, and I don't think either result would be too much of a surprise. Only one can progress, though. Finally, Supernatural faces Veronica Mars. The UPN/CW drama fought valiantly to overcome Buffy in the third round, but it will be an uphill battle if it is to make it through to the final four.

Once again, we'll be taking a day off once these polls close, so come back on Saturday, 17th September at 12pm ET when the semi-finals will commence!

A reminder of the rules:

1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for your favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) To vote, login with either your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ profile. If you don't want to use any of those, you can go direct to Opinion Stage and get an account to vote. One vote per person per poll.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.
