Thanks to Jovan for the heads up.
Singularity, a futuristic comedy project from comedy writer Sonny Lee (Silicon Valley) and producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, heated up the cable/digital marketplace when it was taken out in May, sparking bidding. It has now landed at FX with a rare pilot order off of a pitch. FX Prods. will be the studio.
Conceived by Lee, the comedy is set in a future when artificial intelligence greatly surpasses human intelligence, resulting in profound changes to our society. The comedy is said to be similar in tone to Rogen and Goldberg’s disaster movie This Is the End, which is why Lee reached out to the duo for collaboration. Lee executive produces alongside Rogen and Goldberg through the duo’s Point Grey banner.
