A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.
KILLJOYS, "Heart-Shaped Box", August 12, 2016, Actors: Tori Anderson, Hannah John-Kamen, The Scene: Dutch shoots Sabine
Justyna K: Week by week we're getting to know a little bit more about Six agents, Khlyen and Dutch. This time we actually got to see things in a new perspective, thanks to Sabine. D’avin's almost girlfriend turned out to be a Six and later a part of Black Root. She seemed like a very interesting character and I enjoyed all of her scenes as she (or rather "her true self") slowly faded away. In the final confrontation with Dutch, when Sabine's almost gone, she tells Dutch she's half a Six already and they will eventually get to her. Her words cut deep, especially when she mentions Johnny and D’avin, knowing what they mean to Dutch. Eventually Sabine lets go, she'd rather die than carry on as a killer without emotions. That's when Dutch chooses to shoot her, most probably killing her, but still leaving a tiny fighting chance for her. I kind of wish there was a cure for Sabine, cause at times she seemed like a genuinely fun character with potential and I ended up with mixed feelings on whether there was something real about her and everything she was saying. Also, I thought the two strong women had great interactions and some interesting things in common. Great work by both Hannah John-Kamen & Tori Anderson. I'm very excited to learn the truth about RAC, Sixes, Dutch and all. Kudos to cast & crew for a another good episode!
SUITS, "Trust", August 10, 2016, Actors: Erik Palladino, Patrick J. Adams
The Scene: Kevin tells Mike about Harvey's close call with Frank
Laura Markus: Oh my word, I begged and I begged for this scene to happen. Mike needed to hear how Harvey was ready to eviscerate Frank during the whole drug plan. The look on Mike's face said it all. Kevin ended the scene with some words about trust. Seeing how Mike's going to try and turn on him, it was an intense moment indeed. Great acting, solid writing, and something Mike really required to know.
UNREAL, "Friendly Fire", August 8, 2016, Actors: B. J. Britt, Denée Benton
The Scene: Ruby and Darius reunite
Klutzy girl: Ruby shows up right when Darius needs to choose who to marry, and he picks her because they love each other. I'm so glad they got a happy ending!
