Freeform is developing Santa Monica Shores, a high-concept comedy from Greek creator Patrick Sean Smith and Gary Sanchez Productions.
The premise for the comedy is being kept under wraps. Gary Sanchez’s Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick will executive produce, along with Smith.
Smith has a longstanding relationship with Freeform and its predecessor ABC Family. He created the 2007 drama Greek, one of the first original scripted series on ABC Family that established its brand as a destination for younger viewers. Most recently, he was the showrunner/ executive producer of the network’s drama series Chasing Life. He is currently writing a reunion movie, Greek: The Reunion, for the cable network.
