House of Moore is back in development at ABC. The network originally bought the darkly comedic one-hour project, executive produced by Felicity Huffman, last season with a put pilot commitment. The dramedy, set in the fashion world, was rolled and is now ramping up again with new writers, Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain (The 100). The gig stems from the duo’s overall deal at ABC Studios.
House of Moore, from ABC Studios and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, has been designed as a starring vehicle for American Crime leading lady Huffman, which would not interfere with her commitment to the acclaimed John Ridley drama series. Said to be similar in tone to The Devil Wears Prada and focused on plus-size fashion, House of Moore centers on the lives of an iconic fashion family, looking at our beauty-obsessed culture through a darkly comedic lens. The project’s original incarnation was from Daniel and Ben Barnz.
ABC has been looking for a family drama set in the fashion industry. Three years ago, the network ordered one such project, Americana, to pilot which starred Anthony LaPaglia.
