Emmy winner Carrie Preston (The Good Wife, True Blood) is set to co-star opposite Niecy Nash and Karrueche Tran in TNT’s Claws pilot, an hourlong scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train and Warner Horizon.
Written and co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me), Claws is said to be in the vein of Desperate Housewives. It follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.
Preston will play Polly, a mild-mannered preppy who works as a manicurist at the nail salon. Polly has recently been released from prison, where she did time for identity theft on seniors.
