Universal Television and Broadway Video are developing the comedy “Amy Damnation” for Fox with veterans Allison Silverman and Jon Krisel on board.
Fox has committed to Silverman’s pilot script with a penalty. The story centers around the titular Amy, a compulsive people-pleaser and all-around doormat who discovers she was once such a headstrong kid that her parents had her exorcised. She sets out to find the demon who possessed her, convinced that only he can give her the power to take back her life.
Silverman is attached as writer and executive producer. Andrew Singer of Broadway Video is also executive producing along with the husband-wife team of Krisel and Danica Radovanov. Krisel will also direct should the script be picked up to pilot.
Silverman is currently a co-executive producer on Netflix comedy “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” She previously worked on “The Office” and “The Colbert Report,” winning two primetime Emmys for writing.
