Hey all,
The first round is complete and we're now past the halfway point of the competition. Exciting stuff. Three seeds fell out over the past two weeks, including former winner Castle, LOST - which has failed to reach the second round for the second time - and Beauty and the Beast. (A fourth may potentially be gone too in Buffy, but at the time of writing, that poll isn't closed.) Other notable losses include: Arrow, which lost to one of today's competitors, Chuck; Hannibal, after coming second last year, was beaten by Battlestar Galactica; Once Upon a Time, defeated by one-time winner Outlander; Supergirl, losing to its new network compadre, The Flash; and The 100, taken out by Veronica Mars. Some of those weren't necessarily real contenders for the title, but their exit makes the journey of the eventual winner, in theory, a little easier.
16 more shows must lose out in the next week or so in the second round, but who will make it through?
Reigning champion Person of Interest kicks off round two, coming into it off the back of victory over Downton Abbey. It faces Chuck today, which has already taken out one popular show in Arrow. Can it go even better? Breaking Bad has never made it into the third round, but today it takes on 12 Monkeys; might it break the streak today?
