2016 Emmy Awards - SpoilerTV Staff Nominations

Jul 14, 2016

This Thursday, July 14 at 11:30am ET/8:30 am PT, the nominations for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced. It's a major point in the calendar for anyone heavily involved with TV and gives us the final list of those who could be receiving one of those gold statuettes come September 18. As part of the build-up to Thursday's announcement, I put it to the SpoilerTV team to give their nominations for who they'd like to see shortlisted, and below are the final list of the most popular picks.

It's important to note that these are not predictions; many of these will likely not make the official list later this week. These are the nominations that the team would make if they were a voting member of the Academy. As such, they had to adhere exactly to the Emmy ballots, which means that only those who submitted were up for debate, and performers and programs had to be listed in the category that they were on in the ballots.

Following the rules implemented in last year's Awards, seven shows are picked in the series category for both Comedy and Drama. Beyond that, each category is limited to either six or seven nominations: If there were either five or seven outright leaders in any given performer category, it would be populated by seven nominees rather than trying to whittle it down to six.

Have a read through the team's collective nominations and then hit the comments with who you'd nominate, were you an Academy voter.
