TORONTO (June 6, 2016) City today unveiled a new prime-time schedule that strengthens its position as Canada’s most dynamic network, combining next season’s most anticipated new series with the country’s favourite returning programming. Building upon a youthful foundation of Canada’s most-watched returning programming, City’s 2016/17 schedule will be presented this afternoon by Rick Brace, President, Rogers Media and the executive team at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
“This is the strongest programming lineup City has ever had. Our investment in producing and securing world-class content for the City schedule reflects our deep and continued commitment to Canadians’ love of television and the success of this powerful medium,” said Brace. “As the media industry continues to evolve, the one thing that remains constant is that TV is still the most relevant medium for viewers and advertisers and is the best place to reach a mass audience.”
Among the highlights of City’s 2016/2017 prime-time schedule are:
The season’s most recognized and highly anticipated new dramas – 24: Legacy, Prison Break, and Lethal Weapon
Eight new and returning television event specials
Three all-new original series – Bad Blood: The Vito Rizzuto Story, Nirvanna The Band The Show, and digital-first comedy, Second Jen

“24: Legacy, Prison Break, and Lethal Weapon all come from world-renowned franchises that can be summed up in just one word – blockbusters,” added Watson. “Instantly recognizable titles that are synonymous with the quality and entertainment viewers know and love, these series have a built-in audience base that will propel them to success this season.”
