Gustav goes out of his way to reach out to Laurel and Laurel in turn brings Rochelle into the mix as the three of them begin to piecemeal information about the space aunts, while Gustav also sets out on a quest to to catch them in his apartment!
Laurel also gets pushed by the over controlling nature of her father that leads to some comically defying results that involves getting invited to a wake of Red Wheatus' former Chief of Staff, whom just died on national television, by her frenemy, Gareth. For those that are hoping that more romantic gestures get made, you may be delighted by what transpires between Laurel and Gareth.
Other highlights include Senator Ella Pollack radically pushing for majority whip and changing the disposition of the Democratic party, while Luke's indiscretions get used against him, and where, with a nice lead in from Gustav, the episode plays out like a mass conspiracy theory, as Laurel gets derailed, but is ultimately saved in a surprising act by someone who often doesn't seem to care. As part of the episode title also suggests, there are plots & comments that explore animal cruelty that may or may not leave the episode in a catastrophe!
Overall the episode was delightful as characters are now coming more into each other's lives and viewers start to get a better sense of all the avenues the show could go down. Catch an all new BrainDead tonight at 10 (EST) on CBS.
