12 Monkeys “Resurrection” was written by Richard E Robbins and was directed by Kevin Tancharoen, whose other credits include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy, so he knows action and effects! This episode features some terrific performances by the whole cast but special mention has to go to Emily Hampshire (Jennifer). A shout out to Barbara Sukowa (Jones) and Todd Stashwick (Deacon) as well!
Someone is burning their past. The team is deeply divided as the episode begins. We see the evidence board completely empty. The destruction of the Facility is imminent as the Red Storm draws closer and closer to it.
Jennifer is faced with a monumental choice and chooses her own adventure. Cassie (Amanda Schull) also makes a choice. We get to see the fierce side of Jones, but she is also betrayed by someone she totally trusts. Cole (Aaron Stanford) reminds Deacon of someone, and we get to see a lot more of Deacon.
Ramse (Kirk Acevedo) also makes a choice and wants to talk. Cole gets a surprising ally. Cole still knows Cassie, perhaps better than she knows herself.
Look for a new kind of splintering. Someone’s cycle will end. There are some terrific special effects in the episode – and keep your eyes open for a little Batman action.
And as always, here are some moments of dialogue in no particular order:
Is that what you think I’m doing? Running away?
May I have a moment to myself, please?
Shit.
It’s not Cole’s brand of crazy that I’m worried about.
A leader needs to make sacrifices.
Oh no. It’s personal.
The worst thing about betrayal is it never comes from one’s enemies.
More a hope than a certainty.
Hello egg. I’m chicken.
There’s nothing but death at Titan.
Have I ever said no to you?
Self-preservation’s never been your thing.
I always thought you were my family.
Today’s the day. One that ends at the beginning and begins at the end.
Are you willing to bet your life on it?
You’ll still be afraid of yourself.
You won’t find him and you’ll kill yourself trying.
Sometimes you’ve got to lose to win.
If I told you I needed you right now, will you help me?
Are you willing to let someone you love die for the sake of the mission?
Don’t forget to tune in on Monday, June 27 at 9/8c on Syfy for “Resurrection.” Only one thing is ever certain with this show – you can’t miss an episode!
