23:50 - MOVIES: Jumanji - Jack Black Joins Cast
Jack Black is joining Dwayne Johnson in Sony’s remake of Jumanji, Johnson announced on Instagram.
"In our reimagining of the story of JUMANJI, Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funny and edge with childlike joy," wrote Johnson. Johnson also solidified Kevin Hart’s involvement, which was previously in question due to scheduling, saying that the "Jumanji Breakfast Club" is coming together.
The book told of a boy and a girl who find a jungle-adventure board game and bring it home. When they begin to play, it magically transforms their house into a wild jungle, unleashing a lion, monkeys, a volcano and whole mess of trouble.
“In the original movie there were three big roles,” Johnson previously wrote on Instagram on May 9. “In our new story there's now FIVE. Been so damn cool to see all my actor buddies push their projects aside so hopefully they can come play in our world.”
Johnson also said the new movie will have Williams’ film very much on its mind: “You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of 'Alan Parrish' will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud.”

23:45 - MOVIES: Godzilla 2 - Release Date Pushed 9 Months, Godzilla vs Kong Release Date Revealed
Warner Bros Pictures has moved its Godzilla sequel back by nine months to a presummer 2019 slot and dated the giant lizard’s battle against King Kong for 14 months later. Godzilla 2, director Gareth Edwards‘ follow-up to his 2014 film starring Bryan Cranston, has been pushed to March 22, 2019; it had been slated for the previous June 8. And the Godzilla vs Kong throwdown will open in the summer sweet spot of May 29, 2020.
Godzilla 2 had been slated for an epic battle against the next Transformers behemoth that weekend, but now it will face off against Paramount’s Amusement Park, starring Matthew Broderick and Jennifer Garner. They both arrive two weeks after Disney’s Captain Marvel. Godzilla vs Kong has that next-decade date to itself.
The studio also dated an Untitled WB Event Film for Christmas Day 2018 and moved its Untitled DC Film back by a month from June 19, 2020, to July 24. The earlier date would have the mystery superhero pic up against an Untitled Pixar film, but the new date is all on its own for now. In fact, it’s only the second movie slated for July 2020 at the moment.

00:15 - Dawn - Hulu Orders Prehistoric Drama Pilot
Hulu is ready to turn its lens on prehistoric times.
The streaming service has handed out a pilot order to Dawn, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The project, from Without a Trace creator Hank Steinberg and Black Hawk Down's Ken Nolan, is described as an epic drama set in prehistoric times. It follows a tribe of Neanderthals as they struggle to survive and hold on to their own way of life after coming into contact with a family of Homo Sapiens. At the intersection of evolution and genocide, Dawn asks the fundamental question: What does it mean to be human?
A co-production between MGM and Hulu, Steinberg and Nolan created the drama and will executive produce. Robert Stromberg (Maleficent, Avatar, Alice in Wonderland) will direct the pilot. Production is scheduled to begin Monday in Ireland. The potential series will be made up of an international cast, with Fola Evans Akingbola, Temuera Morrison, Carl Shaaban and Matthew Hopkinson in final negotiations to star.

00:15 - Showtime Developing Pot Comedy from Captain America: Civil War Directors Joe & Anthony Russo
Joe and Anthony Russo – the directors of this weekend’s record-breaking boxoffice champ Captain America: Civil War — are making a return to television with a comedy series project in development at Showtime. The Russo brothers are set to direct and executive produce the untitled half-hour, written/executive produced by comedian Moshe Kasher (Zoolander 2) and writer/actor Zach Cregger (Miss March).
The project focuses on a larcenous family of pot dealers whose world is turned upside down when their illegal enterprise suddenly becomes legal in their home state. As the family struggles to adapt to the strange new world of legitimate business, they are forced to depend upon the business acumen of their son, whose straight and narrow leanings have always made him a “black sheep” in this clan of reprobates.

21:55 - American Gods - Sean Harris Exits; Mad Sweeney Role to Be Recast
There are changes in front of and behind the camera on American Gods, Starz’s upcoming straight-to-series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, which began shooting two weeks ago in Toronto.
One of the main roles, Mad Sweeney, will be recast after British actor Sean Harris had to pull out for personal reasons and return home. Additionally, original director of photography Brendan Glavin has been replaced with Jo Willems (Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1 & Part 2, Limitless feature). I hear that two weeks in, the production was starting to fall behind schedule, and a move was made to try and right the ship early by making a DP change as the delay was attributed, at least in part, to the director, David Slade, and the DP, not being completely in synch. Slade has a long-standing relationship with Willems, whose first feature collaboration with Slade was the Sundance indie Hard Candy. The two also worked together on the film 30 Days of Night and the pilot for NBC series Awake.
As for Harris, I hear he only had worked the past week, filming a couple of scenes, which will be reshot once a new actor is cast.
“Sean Harris had to leave the American Gods production for personal reasons,” series producer FreemantleMedia Media North America said in a statement to Deadline. “He is a very talented actor and we are sad to see him go, but we wish him well. We are currently recasting the role of Mad Sweeney. Separately, we are thrilled to welcome Jo Willems as our DP. Jo and David Slade have had a long-standing creative partnership and have collaborated on various projects. The chemistry between a director and his DP are vital and when Jo became available to join David on American Gods, we jumped at the opportunity to have him on the team.”

02:30 - MOVIES: Slender Man - Sony In Talks for Horror Movie
Sony Pictures is in negotiations to produce and distribute a “Slender Man” movie, based on the supernatural character who stalks, abducts and traumatizes people.
Exclusive worldwide rights to the intellectual property “Slender Man” have been acquired by Mythology Entertainment in partnership with Madhouse Entertainment and It Is No Dream Entertainment for all platforms including motion picture, television, video games, publishing and more.
Slender Man is a tall, thin figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless face. The figure first appeared on the Internet in 2009 as a submission in a photoshop contest in which users were challenged to edit everyday photographs to appear paranormal.
A forum poster with the user name “Victor Surge” contributed two black and white images of groups of children and added a spectral figure wearing a black suit. He wrote under one of the photographs: “He is thought to be responsible for the haunting, stalking, and disappearance of countless children and teens.”
