Scene Of The Week - May 8, 2016 + POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

BANSHEE, "Only One Way a Dog Fight Ends", May 6, 2016, Actors: Ryann Shane and more, The Scene: Deva sits in despair
Samantha Benjamin:
Deva sits in despair after being forced to kill one of the henchmen who attack Carrie's house. We haven't seen much of Deva this season compared to last, but it's just brilliant. When he found her under the car I thought she was done for, but instead she shot him in a pretty neat move. Crawling out from under his dead body, sitting up against the car in shock and looking at his blood on her hands was just such great acting from Ryann Shane. It'll be a shame if we don't see more of her before the show finishes.

BATES MOTEL, "Unfaithful", May 2, 2016, Actors: Freddie Highmore and more
The Scene: Norman goes batshit crazy with an axe (picked by DarkUFO)

GAME OF THRONES, "Home", May 1, 2016, Actors: Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, The Scenes: Jon comes back to life & Tyrion frees the dragons
Justyna K:
Such a great episode! Good to finally have Bran back, can't wait to see more of his visions and learn Stark family's history. Also, I loved Tyrion's meeting with the dragons ("Don't eat the help"), so glad it's also included in the article. I couldn't help but choose the final scene, though. At last! Sure, we all expected Jon to be back but after last season's finale I was worried he might not return until this year's last episodes. Fortunately, that's not the case. The moment when Jon wakes up is a rather quiet one (no fire or ice involved) but so powerful on its own. With each person leaving the room, convinced that Melisandre failed in her attempts to resurrect Jon, the scene becomes more intense and less hopeful. Exactly like Game of Thrones. But after Ghost gets ready, for once, something good actually happens, the impossible. We've lost so many fantastic characters on the show, great to have one of the good guys getting a second chance. Very much excited to see what he'll do with it. Kudos!
Bradley Adams: Tyrion frees the dragons.

GREY'S ANATOMY, "Mama Tried", May 5, 2016, Actors: Jessica Capshaw and more, The Scene: Arizona's court room speech
Maxine Sutton:
In Grey's terms it wasn't the best speech we've heard (Grey's does like its speeches) but it was the defining moment in the episode. It was the moment when one of the mothers looked at the bigger picture and chose to surrender the child for the greater good. Arizona knew that by doing so in the actual court room that her chances of sole custody would sink but knew that once again she had to choose the right thing. In the end King Solomon saw this choice for what it was. The judge saw the one mother who put the child above self. It's a long road back for these two mothers. Also picked by Donna Chidley

OUTLANDER, "Untimely Resurrection", May 7, 2016, Actors: Tobias Menzies and more
The Scene: The King humiliates Black Jack Randall (picked by Prpleight)

PERSON OF INTEREST, "B.S.O.D.", May 3, 2016, Actors: Michael Emerson, Amy Acker and more, The Scenes: Root tells Harold why she believes in the Machine & Root declares she fell in love & Finch erases the Machine's memories
Aimee Hicks:
While taking refuge from Samaritans operatives Root declares that she fell in love. This was said in passing as Root was running for her life but it is clear Shaw is never far from her mind. Amy Acker is brilliant as Root and does amazing work showing how Root feels for the love she is desperate to find.
Bradley Adams: Finch decides to erase the Machine's memories, despite it attempting to convince him not to. It's incredible how this show continually provokes emotional reactions from an AI "talking". This scene was gut-wrenching to watch.
DarkUFO: Root tells Harold that she believes in the Machine because it is a reflection of Harold. Also picked by Prpleight

SUPERNATURAL, "Don't Call Me Shurley", May 4, 2016, Actors: Rob Benedict, Curtis Armstrong, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, The Scene: The ending
Justyna K:
Now that's a fantastic episode! There are so many great moments there but the final scene steals the hour for me. First of all, glad all's confirmed now. It's the reveal the fans waited for years to see. I absolutely loved the song in the end - "Fare Thee Well". Rob Benedict does a wonderful work in the episode (as does Curtis Armstrong!) and his great voice makes the ending even better. It wouldn't be Supernatural without a heartfelt exchange between brothers and as always, love to see them staying together and protecting each other. Things were not looking good for them for a while and then Chuck answers Dean's call and not only stops the fog and heals the infected but also brings back the dead. And last but not least, the amulet is back! Didn't realize how much I missed it until Dean picked it up. Beautifully done ending, the music, the acting, the miracles all around. And can't wait to see the conversation next week. Kudos!
Klutzy girl: Sam and Dean (and the town) are saved, notice the amulet is glowing, and end up re-meeting God.

THE AMERICANS, "The Magic of David Copperfield V: The Statue of Liberty Disappears", May 4, 2016, Actors: Keri Russell, Holly Taylor, The Scene: Elizabeth tells Paige how it will be
Bradley Adams:
This scene was to Keri Russell what season two's 'Martial Eagle' was to Matthew Rhys. There was a lot of built-up anger being vented here, and it was both terrifying and immensely satisfying to watch. Also picked by DarkUFO

THE FLASH, "Rupture", May 3, 2016, Actors: Grant Gustin and more, The Scene: The ending
Justyna K:
I did not see this one coming. Sure, it was easy to guess that bringing Barry's powers back will also have other consequences, but I expected it to be the impact on Jesse and Wally, not THIS. First of all, loved all the Fringe and Harry Potter references that came with idea (thank you, Cisco!). But then... poor Barry. It was hard to watch him suffer with the chemicals and the machine but seeing him fall apart was absolutely heartbreaking! The reactions of everyone in the room said it all. It's the one time when Zoom's visit wasn't the worst thing happening at the moment. Harry and Cisco in shock, Iris and Henry breaking down, Joe's tears - what an emotional and brutal ending! Wonderful work by all the actors. Hopefully it won't take long to bring Barry back. I do wonder what this shocking twist will mean for the Flash and his powers. Maybe his connection with Speed Force will get much stronger after everything... Can't wait for next episode! Kudos!
Donna Chidley: They all stare at his torn outfit thinking The Flash is dead after a failed attempt to give Barry back his speed. He seemed to disintegrate before their eyes.

THE MIDDLE, "Not Mother's Day", May 4, 2016, Actors: Neil Flynn, Marsha Mason
The Scene: Mike makes up for hurting his mother-in-law
Klutzy girl:
After learning that he hurt his mother-in-law by refusing to dance with her at his wedding, Mike stops the car on the way back to her house and cranks the radio so they can finally have that dance.
