    Ratings Breakdown:
It was overnight Monday business as usual with “Dancing With the Stars” leading ABC to victory in households and “The Voice” expected to lift NBC to dominance in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics). “Dancing With the Stars” averaged an 8.3 rating/13 share in households from 8-10 p.m., which was six percent below the 8.8/14 on the year-ago evening. And competing “The Voice” scored a 6.3/10, which was five percent below the 6.6/10 last year. In other words, both are consistent.

Tops at 10 p.m., however, was the season-finale of “NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS at a 5.1/ 9, which bested the competition – “Castle” on ABC (#2: 4.2/ 7) and “Blindspot” on NBC (#3: 3.7/ 6) by 21 percent and 38 percent, respectively. Comparably, “Castle,” which is still waiting for an official renewal, slipped by 26 percent from the 5.7/10 on the year-ago week. “Blindspot,” meanwhile, was flat from year-ago time period occupant “The Night Shift.”

Earlier in the evening on CBS were two episodes of soon-to-conclude sitcom “Mike & Molly” (8 p.m.: #3, 4.6/ 7; 8:30 p.m.: #3: 4.7/ 7), which from a ratings standpoint should not be ending. And a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” at 9 p.m. (#3: 4.3/ 7) led into the Monday 9:30 p.m. time period debut of “The Odd Couple” (#3: 3.6/ 6), which is now airing twice per week.

In series premiere news, Fox drama “Houdini and Doyle” was left at the starting gate with a mere 1.8/ 3 in the household overnights from 9-10 p.m. Comparably, this was 31 percent below the season-finale of “Lucifer” one week earlier (2.6/ 4 on April 25). It was 25 percent below the 2.4/ 4 for former time period occupant “The Following” on the year-ago evening. And it dropped from lead-in “Gotham” (2.6/ 4 at 8 p.m.) by 31 percent. Since most new series decline in the vicinity of 10 to 20 percent in week two, I would not get too used to “Houdini and Doyle.”

The CW capped off the night with its low-rated pairing of “Reign” and “Jane the Virgin,” which each averaged a minute 0.7/ 1 in the household overnights.
