Last Week's Final Adjusted Ratings
Early HH Ratings from Marc Berman (programminginsider)
The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)
NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.
Household Rating/Share
ABC: 7.2 rating/12 share, NBC: 5.3/ 9, CBS: 4.3/ 7, Fox: 2.2/ 4, CW: 0.7/ 1
Percent Change from the Year-Ago Evening:
CW: +75, ABC: + 7, Fox: – 8, NBC: -12, CBS: -16
—–
Ratings Breakdown:
ABC, as usual, opened the week on a winning household overnight note care of an 8.2 rating/13 share in households. Comparably, that was 34 percent above the 6.1/10 for competing “The Voice” on NBC. But “The Voice” should have no trouble leading NBC to victory for the night in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics). Both “Dancing With the Stars” and “The Voice” were close to year-ago overnight levels.
In series-finale news, CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly” rose to a season-high 5.3/ 8 at 8:30 p.m. (out of a 5.0/ 8 at 8 p.m. for the first of the two episodes last night). And ABC’s “Castle,” which almost got picked-up for a ninth season, concluded with a 5.2/ 9 at 10 p.m. Comparably, that bested the competition – “Blindspot” on NBC (#2: 3.6/ 6) and “Person of Interest” on CBS (#3: 3.5/ 6) – by 44 percent and 49 percent, respectively. Don’t be fooled about NBC moving “Blindspot” into the Wednesday 8 p.m. hour next season. Remember what happened to former “The Voice” lead-out “Revolution” when NBC made that same move in the fall of 2013?
In season-finale news was “Jane the Virgin” on The CW at a modest (and typical) 0.7/ 1 in the household overnights at 9 p.m. Lead-in “Reign” scored a 0.6/ 1 at 8 p.m. Assuming The CW keeps sophomore “Supergirl” in the Monday 8 p.m. hour next season, my vote is to move “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and “Jane the Virgin” to Friday.
Fox capped off the evening with “Gotham” (#4: 2.7/ 5 at 8 p.m.), which once again will be presented in two half seasons in 2016-17 (and is not the hit Fox would like you to believe) and canceled “Houdini & Doyle” (#5: 1.8/ 3 at 9 p.m.).
