Ratings Breakdown:
CBS stood well above the competition in the Tuesday overnights with its combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 9.9 rating/17 share), spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 7.9/.12) and the final season of “Person of Interest” (#2: 4.8/ 8), which is now airing two times per week. Both “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” conclude for the season next week.
Fox’s Tuesday night comedies ended for the season (or in the case of “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder,” potentially the series) with minimal interest. “New Girl” opened with a 1.7/ 3 in the household overnights at 8 p.m. (#4), followed by “Grandfathered” (#5: 1.3/ 2), the season-finale of a 9 p.m. edition of “New Girl” (#4: 1.6/ 2) and “The Grinder” (#4: 1.2/ 2). My prediction is that both “Grandfathered” and “The Grinder” are exciting.
NBC finished a comfortable second last night in households with its line-up of “The Voice” (#2: 6.2/10), which will win the 8 p.m. hour in the key demos with ease, “Chicago Med” (#2: 5.5/ 8) and “Chicago Fire” (#2: 4.8/ 8).
Elsewhere, ABC’s 8-10 p.m. combination of sitcoms “Fresh Off the Boat” (##: 2.9/ 5) and “The Real O’Neals” (#3: 2.2/ 2) and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (#3: 2.2/ 3) led into a mere 1.3/ 2 for a 10 p.m. edition of “BattleBots.” And The CW’s solid “The Flash” (#4: 2.5/ 4) led into a 1.0/ 1 for recent drama entry “Containment,” which dropped by 60 percent.
