With Supergirl moving from CBS, the CW picked up three new series, Riverdale and Frequency from Warner Bros. TV and No Tomorrow from CBS TV Studios. For the past couple of weeks, Frequency had been tracking neck and neck with Kevin Williamson’s paranormal drama. That project will now be redeveloped for next season.
Written by Williamson, the show centers on a young woman who seeks help from a parapsychologist when she begins to experience paranormal phenomena. Williamson also is the writer-executive producer of ABC drama pilot Time After Time, which has been picked up to series. Additionally, the Fox drama pilot Recon, which he executive produces, remains in consideration for midseason.
In addition to Kevin Williamson, the CW is redeveloping two high-profile projects from this season that didn’t go to pilot stage, The Notebook, based on the romance novel by Nicholas Sparks and the 2004 feature, and Weaveworld, an adaptation of the horror/fantasy novel by Clive Barker (Hellraiser).
