Scene Of The Week - April 10, 2016 + POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

11.22.63, "The Day in Question", April 4, 2016, Actors: James Franco, Constance Towers
The Scene: Jake meets an elderly Sadie and has a dance at the end of the show (picked by DarkUFO)

2 BROKE GIRLS, "And the Show and Don't Tell", April 7, 2016, Actors: Beth Behrs, Steven Weber, The Scene: Caroline tells her father she belongs with Max
Samantha Benjamin:
Caroline tells her father she doesn't want to go back to Wall Street as she belongs with Max. I love Caroline & Max's friendship & I like when the show touches on how far Caroline has come from season 1.

BANSHEE, "The Burden of Beauty", April 8, 2016, Actors: Antony Starr, Chris Coy and more, The Scenes: Lucas says he's sorry for everything & Calvin explains that he is going to wait
Samantha Benjamin:
Lucas is shocked to discover Carrie kept looking for Job, she's taken aback to discover Deva saw Lucas but kept it from her and Lucas says he's sorry for everything. There's always so much said in so few words in this show and it's part of why I'm going to miss it when it finishes.
Bradley Adams: Calvin explains that he is going to wait for the right moment and then seize it.

BLACK-ISH, "The Leftovers", April 6, 2016, Actors: Yara Shahidi and more, The Scene: Zoey says she'll take care of her siblings if their parents die
Klutzy girl:
After Dre and Bow spend the whole episode debating who'll raise the kids if they die, Zoey steps up and tells them she'll take care of her siblings as she's been helping out around the house all week when they fought over this. It was such a sweet, emotional scene.

BETTER CALL SAUL, "Fifi", April 4, 2016, Actors: Bob Odenkirk and more, The Scenes: That one shot opener of border control & Jimmy makes a minor adjustment to Chuck's Mesa Verde files
Shirleena Cunningham:
That one shot opener of border control. Where you see the whole process, the trucker have to take in order to pass the US border.
Bradley Adams: Jimmy makes a minor adjustment to Chuck's Mesa Verde files. Also picked by Darth Locke

BLINDSPOT, "Any Wounded Thief", April 4, 2016, Actors: Sullivan Stapleton, Jaimie Alexander
The Scene: Kurt gives Jane a necklace on her birthday
Klutzy girl:
Kurt gives Jane a necklace on her birthday that belonged to her mother. It was the perfect gesture and so thoughtful.

BROAD CITY, "Burning Bridges", April 6, 2016, Actors: Ilana Glazer, Abbi Jacobson, The Scene: Abbi and Ilana find an open table with only one chair
Maximilian Conte:
Abbi & Ilana find an open table with only one chair: Abbi asks a man who is sitting alone and resting his leg on another chair if they could use the seat. When he refuses, Abbi grabs the chair - and the man's prosthetic leg falls off. It was probably the hardest I've laughed at a scene in a comedy series all year.

BROOKLYN NINE NINE, "Maximum Security", April 5, 2016, Actors: Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, The Scene: Jake and Amy reconcile after their fight
Laura Markus:
Jake and Amy reconcile after their fight and Jake agrees to let Amy take care of the undercover assignment. This was very important for both of them. Jake realized he was too attached to Amy and wanted to protect her no matter what, and then decided that she is more than capable of protecting herself. And Amy apologized for being too uptight. They're all good again and I've always enjoyed how this show portrays a work romance between a male and female. It does it so well and it was no different in this episode and scene. Great work!

LIMITLESS, "Hi, My Name Is Rebecca Harris", April 5, 2016, Actors: Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Murray Bartlett, The Scene: Brian tells Rebecca he can't stay
Justyna K:
After spending this entire brilliant episode watching things from Rebecca's perspective it was easy to miss the consequences of all these events for Brian. He was focused on helping his friend find justice for her father but he sacrificed his new life in FBI in the process. And Rebecca's reaction as she realizes what he's done says everything. It's a beautiful and emotional moment for these two. Brian's actions show who he truly is, with or without NZT, worth of his friends' trust, despite all the lies he has told them. Great performances from both actors and brilliant turning point of the story. Can't wait to see what happens now and how things will change for Brian. Kudos to the cast & crew for their work!
Laura Markus: Brian tells Rebecca he can't stay and Rebecca sees her dad one last time. WHAT. A. SCENE. The acting was phenomenal across the board here. Like Rebecca, we all should've seen it coming. What is going to happen to Brian now? We all fear for the future, but at least we had this last scene between them. And just when Rebecca was ready to give up, she saw her father one last time with her NZT. He offered some choice advice (great writing in this scene) and then it was over. Wow, this is how you do TV. Right here. There hasn't been a scene that touched me this much since Ike told Brian he's used to his nickname. Bravo, Limitless. I can't wait for the finale.
Darth Locke: Rebecca gets emotional when she realizes what Brian was trying to do for her.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Spacetime", April 5, 2016, Actors: Chloe Bennet, Bjørn Johnson, The Scene: Daisy makes a promise to Charles
Justyna K:
It was a brilliant episode with many scenes worth mentioning in the article. I'm glad the team finally knows about Hive and that even though Andrew wasn't saved, he and May at least got a chance to say goodbye. But it's Charles and his story that ended up being the most memorable part of the hour for me. After seeing a glimpse of the future, Daisy and the team race against time to save the Inhuman with ability to see one's death. Hoping to change his fate Daisy eventually gets to the roof only to be stopped by Malick who nearly kills her. And it's Charles who saves her in the end, not the other way around. Nothing changes, despite all the team's efforts. And as he dies, Charles shows Daisy the explosion in space and asks her to protect his child, Robin. And she promises to take care of her. Always. Such a powerful, heartbreaking scene and a painful loss for the team. Looks like things are about to change... Wonderful performance by Chloe Bennet and Bjørn Johnson. Kudos to the entire AoS team for another brilliant hour!

NASHVILLE, "What I Cannot Change", April 6, 2016, Actors: Hayden Panettiere, Jonathan Jackson
The Scene: Avery allows Juliette to spend more time with Cadence
Klutzy girl:
After Juliette drops out of a movie, Avery shows up and allows her to spend more time with Cadence. It's the first in a long line of steps towards reconciling and I'm glad they had this moment.

STITCHERS, "The One That Got Away", April 5, 2016, Actors: Emma Ishta, Kyle Harris, The Scene: Cameron and Kirsten talk about their feelings for one another
Aimee Hicks:
These characters have been through a lot this season and that’s saying a lot considering it has only been 3 episodes. With Kirsten able to feel emotions again it’s overwhelming for her and while she obviously cares about Cameron she needs time to process everything. I’m glad the show just came out and addressed that issue and I’m even happier that Cameron was so supportive of Kirsten. He understands her point of view and is prepared to give her the time she needs. That is a sign of true pure love and one day when these two are finally allowed to be together they will have a better relationship thanks to his ability to understand her. Emma and Kyle were great together and they have an immense amount of chemistry that really shone through in this scene. They made this scene standout in an episode full of great and memorable moments.

THE 100, "Fallen", April 7, 2016, Actors: Lindsey Morgan and more, The Scene: ALIE takes over Raven
Samantha Benjamin:
Raven tries to resist ALIE and she responds by returning all of Raven's pain which completely overwhelms her and results in Raven submitting and ALIE taking over her. The flashbacks were horrible specially replaying Finn's death over & over again, but Lindsey Morgan did a terrific job with it. Raven turning to Abby after ALIE took over her is the creepiest thing I've seen all week. Transitioning from one character to another in such a short amount of time can be tricky for an actor to pull off but Lindsey was brilliant.

THE AMERICANS, "Chloramphenicol", April 6, 2016, Actors: Annet Mahendru, Noah Emmerich and more, The Scenes: Nina is executed & Aderholt and Martha have dinner
Darth Locke:
After Nina wakes from a somewhat pleasant dream, she is escorted and denied her appeal, and then immediately shot dead. Also picked by DarkUFO
Bradley Adams: Aderholt and Martha have dinner while Stan searches Martha's apartment.

THE ORIGINALS, "Behind the Black Horizon", April 8, 2016, Actors: Riley Voelkel, Caspar Zafer and more, The Scenes: Finn's death & The Mikaelson siblings say goodbye to Finn as they spread his ashes
Justyna K:
The one truly good thing that can be said about Mikaelson siblings is that they love each other. They can hurt and fight against one another but when it really matters they stand united. And it's especially visible in this hour, in the final scenes of the episode mentioned in the article. Finn was never really on the same side as the rest of the siblings but when he's hurt everyone stays by his side. For a moment they think Klaus' blood healed his wounds only to realize he's getting worse, quickly. Then there's few seconds for a desperate plan before they all know it's too late to save him. Finn's in pain, scared and doesn't want to be alone. So he's not. Freya doesn't let go of his hand and comforts him saying she's there with him. They all are. Her reaction though is what really makes this scene so powerful and heartbreaking. Great performance from the cast, especially Riley Voelkel. "Always and forever, brother. Till forever ends." Kudos!
Aimee Hicks: The Mikaelson siblings say goodbye to Finn as they spread his ashes. This was a great scene to show a mostly united Mikaelson family. They still have their issues with each other but when their family and friends are being targeted they will work together as a unified front. The raw emotion in this scene really helped set the mood for the battles that are sure to come. All of the actors delivered powerful performances as they took their turn eulogizing Finn. I can’t wait to see what comes next as the family fights for their survival against an enemy that can now kill them. The emotion and unity in this scene made it stand out as the best of the episode.

THE WALKING DEAD, "Last Day on Earth", April 3, 2016, Actors: Jeffrey Dean Morgan and more
The Scene: Negan gives his speech (picked by DarkUFO)

WYNONNA EARP, "Keep the Home Fires Burning", April 8, 2016, Actors: Melanie Scrofano, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, The Scene: Wynonna and Waverly talk by the fire
Aimee Hicks:
After an episode of being chased around and repeatedly attacked this was a nice moment for the sisters to just connect and relax. I love that the show is having Wynonna and Waverly move in together. Melanie and Dominique have such a natural ease together that I believe them as sisters in every scene they share. Sometimes in the early episodes of a new show it can be a struggle for the actors to get a grip on the relationships between their characters but that’s not the case on this show. All the characters immediately clicked but from the moment Wynonna and Waverly came together on screen the sibling dynamic was present thanks in big part to the actresses and their ability to connect with each other. It was nice that this scene allowed Waverly to deal with her guilt over causing the events of the night they were attacked as children. I liked that Wynonna’s reaction wasn’t one of anger but one of understanding. Bobo targeted her little sister and she’ll make him pay for that act. I hope this is just the first of many sisterly bonding moments at the homestead.
