Ratings Breakdown:
Note: TBS, TNT and truTV aired the NCAA Championship.
ABC opened the week on a winning overnight note thanks to “Dancing With the Stars,” which scored an 8.4 rating/13 share in households from 8-10 p.m. But the 6.8/10 for competing “The Voice” will lift NBC to first in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics). Both reality/competitions held up well opposite the NCAA Championship on the Turner Networks.
Needless to say, it was great to see Charlotte Rae, who turns 90 in two weeks, cheer on Kim Fields in her dance tribute to classic sitcom “The Facts of Life” on “Dancing With the Stars” last night.
“Dancing With the Stars” led into a 4.4/ 7 for on-the-fence “Castle” at 10 p.m. (#1), which slipped from the 9:30 p.m. portion of “Dancing” (8.2/12) by a hefty 46 percent. Competing “Blindspot” on NBC (#2: 3.8/ 7), which is not the caliber of hit everyone seems to think, dropped from the 9:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (6.5/10) by 42 percent.
CBS ducked the competition last night with its encore combination of two episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” (8 p.m.: #3, 4.3/ 7; 8:30 p.m.: #3, 4.5/ 7), “Scorpion” (#3: 3.4/ 5) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#3: 3.4/ 6).
Fox and The CW were also in repeats. Fox aired its regularly scheduled pairing of “Gotham” (#4: 1.2/ 2) and “Lucifer” (#4: 1.3/ 2). And The CW opened with a Monday 8 p.m. installment of “iZombie” (#5: 0.5/ 1) into critically acclaimed “Jane the Virgin” (#5: 0.4/ 1).
