Gadot’s scene is described as follows: Ralph and Vanellope encounter Shank and her unusual cohorts when they venture to the internet in search of a replacement part for Vanellope’s game, “Sugar Rush.” Shank has a reputation as a tough-as-nails street racer, and Vanellope finds herself up against her.

“She is the coolest character in this world of Slaughter Race,” said director Rich Moore about Gadot’s character. “Shank’s lived a lot, she’s seen a lot, yet she’s got nothing but kindness in her heart—that’s the duality of that character.”

Disney shared new plot details for Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 during Friday's animation panel at D23. And it turns out, the film sees Ralph (John C. O’Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) travel into the Internet to find a spare part to fix Sugar Rush after it breaks.

Along the way, they will meet series newcomer Yesss (Taraji P. Henson), an expert on the viral parts of the internet whom Ralph seeks out for help.

The audience was treated to a clip, which shows Vanellope meeting with all of the Disney princesses — an impressive scene which set the stage for an equally impressive reunion on stage, bringing the crowd to its feet for stars including Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel (Frozen), Kristen Bell (Frozen) Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Tangled), Kelly MacDonald (Brave), Auli'i Cravalho (Moana).

28th March 2017 - Disney Announces Official Title

Your eyes do not deceive you. The new title of the movie is officially: Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. We love this so much. As if that wasn’t enough to make our Wreck-It Ralph fan hearts soar, we also found out today that both Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer, who voiced Sergeant Calhoun and Fix-It Felix respectively, will be returning to voice their characters, along with John C. Reilly (Ralph) and Sarah Silverman (Vanellope). Filmmakers also announced that, as the title might suggest, in this story Wreck-It Ralph will be escaping the arcade and traveling through the expansive universe of the internet. We can’t wait to see him break it!

The team behind Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 will be directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston and producer Clark Spencer, all of whom previously worked on Zootopia and Wreck-It Ralph.

Moore said the following about the upcoming sequel:

“To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore. Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know—the internet—but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”

Johnston also offered his excitement:

“We’re so excited to be working with Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz, Fix-It Felix, and Sergeant Calhoun again, and we have new characters we look forward to unveiling. At the center of this film, as in the first one, is the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope, two once-outcasts, who in each other, found true friendship.”

John C. Reilly announced he has “signed on” for a sequel to the 2012 Disney animated film “Wreck-It Ralph.”

The “Talladega Nights” actor made the statement on the Irish radio show RTE Arena as he was visiting the Emerald Isle to attend the Galway Film Fleadh film festival.

Disney has not officially greenlit the sequel yet, but director Rich Moore has said in previous interviews that he began exploring the idea for a sequel just after the first film came out.

  • 1st April 2014 - Composer Confirms Film is Being Written
Have you heard anything about a Wreck-It Ralph sequel?

JACKMAN: I did, to be honest with you. I can’t tell you more, not because I’m being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards. I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written. I’d be very surprised not to. I’m not blowing my own trumpet. Forget about the music. Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work. Rich [Moore], the director, actually got involved in the writing. There was another writer and I can’t remember his name (Editor’s note: it’s Phil Johnston). Just as a concept, it would be almost remiss of them not to write another one. It’s a great idea and it’s a great character.

  • 11th February 2013 - Cast and Crew are Interested in a Sequel
Judging by what you just said, there’s been no word on a sequel or a follow-up movie? You don’t know if that’s going to happen, but it sounds like something you would like to happen.

Within the creative staff, the film, and everyone here at the animation studio, everyone that I talk to – from all the artists to all the animators, the voice cast like John [C. Reilly] and Sarah [Silverman] – everyone would love to kind of revisit that world. I think that it’s kind of unanimous that to say that we just barely scratched the surface. We talked about arcade games. Imagine if we went into home systems and other kinds of platforms or online, or mobile games or something like that. We can’t end with just arcade cabinets from the 1980s. There is huge interest on the creative side. And I think the people across the street from us on the main lot, they love the movie, too. I’m hoping that we’ll be able some day soon that we are doing one.

  • 8th February 2013 - Director Wants to Include Mario in Sequel
"Over the course of developing the story I was always looking for the perfect moment or scene to include Mario," he explained.

"But it had to be organic, it had to feel like [the scene] was made for him and unfortunately as we were developing the story and taking it to where it needed to go, that moment never made itself clear."

Wreck-It Ralph does feature Super Mario's Bowser, who was said to be perfect for the Bad-Anon scenes for recovering villains.

Moore added that there may be a future for the Nintendo star in a subsequent instalment, claiming: "If we're lucky enough to have a sequel then we'll create that moment that's perfect for [Mario]."
