Grimm - Skin Deep - Review

When Nick and Hank come across a beautiful young woman who seems to have aged 70 years overnight and died, they suspect Wesen involvement. The investigation leads to a local doctor and Rosalee is enlisted to help find the truth. Meanwhile, Eve takes bold steps to learn more about Capt. Renard's nefarious dealings.

This week Grimm plays Death Becomes Her, the 1992 movie with Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis. The episode is called Skin Deep.
The Wesen of the week involves, in fact, a special cream, made with the life-blood of young and beauty people, provided by a creature called Musasat Alsh-Shabab, an Egyptian monster that uses its horrible mandibles to steal their youth. A beatiful woman, Summer, gets noticed by a charming photographer named Malcolm who seems quite interesting in taking pictures of her. They meet in his office and start working. As soon as the flashes of the camera keep increasing, the girl needs to rest
and faints. Then we see the man is a Wesen who feeds of her beauty. Back home, we learn the poor victim gets old and the next morning, when her friend comes to visit her, she finds her dead. Nick, Hank and Wu are on the case and they suspect a Wesen is behind Summer's death. Rosalee and Monroe suggest it must be an ancient Egyptian monster who's able to steal people's youth and beauty.
Meanwhile, another victim is found dead. A 19 years old guy turned into a 90-something. Nick and Hank find the address of Malcolm who leads them to doctor Eugene Forbes who runs a cosmetic clinic aka the fountain of the youth. Rosalee goes undercover to find out what kind of treatment the doctor uses. Nick, Hank and Monroe intervene just in time to stop dr. Forbes before he puts the cream on Rosalee's face. Then the photographer arrives and there's some action in which Malcolm dies.

And there's the other storyline. Eve is investigating on Renard's involvement into the candidate's murder. She contacts Nick and explains her suspects: she thinks the Captain has been set up since he's now running for mayor - as Rachel wanted. Also Eve has some personal problems: Juliette's memories come into surface as she remembers that one time she turned into Adalind (season 4). Oh, Eve, what are you doing? She performs that same spell and she turns into Sean Renard! I guess we'll see her talking with Rachel very soon.

Bonus: can we just take a moment and look at Nick being all daddy bear with Kelly? So cute! Can we have more scenes for Adalind? I can't wait to see if Nick will see something Hexenbeist on her.

Now that she's found a way to turn into someone else, is Eve going to be a problem for Nick and the others? Do you think Renard is in danger now?
