Empire – A Rose By Another Other Name – Review

Empire’s second half of Season 2 is going on with an insane rhythm. After the fast-paced last week’s first episode of the new bunch, A Rose by Any Other Name was no-less intriguing. There were great unexpected twists, and the storylines changed once again, drastically. It’s Empire: nothing stays the same for too long.

Let’s discuss the Mimi-Camilla's gate. I really didn’t see THAT coming. Not only Camilla kills her wife after she has become a problem, Lucious finds this out and obliges her either to confess or go to jail. He is a mastermind, and it is quite obvious that it is not advisable to go against him. I will miss Camilla because she was an interesting character, but I guess that it’s better to keep the story fresh and juicy.

What will the consequences be? How Hakeem will handle the situation? I didn’t expect his betrayal, I am sure that problems are just getting started . I am still not sold on Hakeem as the C.E.O and I’d found a bit odd the new logo on the opening credits, but we’ll see how the writers will write the following episodes.

Jamal is still facing various problems that are direct consequence of the Skye’s thing. I still don’t understand why the writers are so much focused on this storyline. I love Jamal, and I’d rather have a more coherent and interesting storyline for him. They should definitely stop focusing on this matter. Indeed, I really enjoyed his new songs.

Andre and Rhonda are still struggling to getting out of the rabbit hole of grief, that have trapped them. They still have issues and Andre is the one who is struggling the most. I think he’s on the verge of another crisis.

These two new latest episodes are strong. I love Empire when it’s a juicy, unexpected and plot-twists filled series. It is its strength , and I hope it won’t disappoint again.

What do you think of A Rose by Any Other Name?
