That was a spectacular episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It was probably the best episode since the midseason finale. I was invested in the side plots, as well as the main plot of having Jake, Rosa, Holt, and this new guy break into the FBI to gain intel on the people targeting Adrian. Holt, in true fashion to his character, assigned a long number to the Pimento case. Jake, much like I would be, is outraged and says, "Oh, how DARE you bring math into this." I loved learning more about this guy Anderson and his relationship with Holt. The flashback with them in a car where neither one of them care for small talk was genius. He seemed really trustworthy the whole time. I mean, they had absolutely no reason not to trust him. This made his betrayal even more gripping and intense. I love that they keep calling the perp ScarJo, and I love how Holt was oblivious to why. And then we had Boyle and Amy's meet up, where Boyle drops many popular Jewish things to say (e.g. Shabbat Shalom, even though it probably wasn't a Saturday when that episode was taking place. Oh, Boyle). Terry's worried about this leak in the 99, which is later revealed to be him after he posted a picture of himself on Twitter in front of the crime numbers. Smooth, Terry. I can see why they wanted to blame Hitchcock and Scully, though. The game plan in order to get into the FBI in the first place was amazing. Learning that Rosa does a lot of yoga - I swear she gets better and better every week. Only Jake can't ask her about it again or she'll "hunt him down and rip his face off". Meanwhile, Maura starts making some moves on Boyle, leading me to cringe a little bit but still laugh my butt off. Saved by the bell, Genevieve later calls him and tells him they're adopting a baby. I'm very happy for Boyle, he deserves this. Terry attempts to train Jake by helping him do pull-ups. Oh Jake, you poor thing, I totally feel for you, man.
Then we get the meat of the episode - the break-in. The guy sitting at the desk, named Phil, was the highlight of the episode. Holt had to talk about Sex and the City to him, and that made for a ton of amazing jokes. After being successful, Jake celebrates very excitedly. "I'm only human. You can't always expect me to be the coolest guy ever." True that, Jake. We learn that Anderson says "Punk." just like Holt, and apparently he learned it from him too. A m a z i n g. When apprehending the suspect, they find Wheelan's body and it appears Figgis got to him first. In a hilarious way, Jake checks his pulse and both Jake and Wheelan are still alive. Wow, isn't that something!? At the hospital, they learn he's going to make it. He'll be in a coma for 12 more hours, and Rosa hopes he's in a lot of pain. Jake brings celebration candy bars. Things seem perfectly normal when Anderson asks to stay behind to interrogate him when he wakes up. Holt will stay behind with him, and he sends Jake and Rosa home to get some sleep. Instead they go to a bar when they put the pieces together, with the help of Amy. she calls them and lets them know that Anderson is the inside man. Watching Jake frantically call Holt made my heart sink. He was genuinely so scared, as was Rosa. Anderson holds Holt at gunpoint and tells him not to answer the phone. What's even worse about this whole situation is that Holt has seriously been through enough already. Remember the Season 2 finale episodes - Wuntch making him take that promotion or else she would transfer all of his detectives all over the state? Yeah, Holt had to actually leave the precinct. Don't you think enough is enough? I swear, he better make it out of this alive or I'm going to be very angry.
What did YOU think of The Bureau? Are you as pleased as I am with the way Amy is conducting herself in prison? What about Boyle - are you excited for him and Genevieve to have a child? Did you get nervous for this helluva cliffhanger we were left with? Are you excited to see the finale next week? Please leave a comment down below!
