Should we expect a jump in time between seasons, or will season two begin where the finale left off?
I don't feel like I should answer the question about how much of a time jump there will be, but let's just say we have a pretty cool idea of how to start the second season. I don't want to say too much about it, but … you're going to learn a lot more about what's happening in this world, and you'll learn it pretty quickly.
What will it take to bring Will and Katie back together, both physically and in terms of repairing their marriage?
Clearly it's going to take having a second season of the show. Thank God we do! [Laughs] That's a lot of what we're exploring in the second season: How do you put that relationship back together? We want to dive into the dynamics of what makes Will and Katie's marriage work. Are their issues ones they can overcome? What's their destiny, in terms of each other? All that will be explored in great detail in season two.
In the finale, we finally saw a host. Previously, we learned that the Factory is not on Earth. Are we moving into more overt science fiction territory as we head into season two?
Yes, very much so. Someone used the term "spy-fi" for our show, which is a good summation of what the show is going to be in season two. We always loved the idea of doing an alien invasion story where you see one alien one time in the first season, and he's in a suit, and he's dead. That was incredibly exciting to us, subverting genre expectations in that way. On the other hand, it feels like a cheat not to see anything, so we wanted to at least tell the audience that there isn't some sort of giant mind—k here; there are aliens.

Holloway says he’s enjoyed seeing his character evolve through the season, even if some of his choices haven’t always been the right ones. “What’s interesting is, in a way, I feel like he is just going back to his old skin and it’s a little painful for him and a little familiar. Because he worked in this side of life, he worked on this side of negativity, and in this moment he was a mechanic living a family life, under the radar. There’s kind of a cynical approach to it that he has. And the stakes are so much higher. Partially, he’s upset with his wife. They have this huge gap between them, however, like I said, he has to be okay with what she’s doing right now. He married a rebel, and he freaking knows it. So there’s a bit of respect with that, it’s not totally like, she betrayed me. He understands where she’s coming from. He knows who he marries and who he loves.”
So does that mean Holloway thinks the two will reconcile come next season? “I think so,” teases the actor who, despite his executive producer status, is just as in the dark as the rest of us when it comes to next season’s stories. “They haven’t told me anything, and I’m that kind of actor,” he says. “I find out what I need to know for the work side of it, but I don’t need them blowing the story for me. I talk with the writers in the writers’ room at the beginning of the season, I give big broad strokes of things, ask questions, put a little input in, and then I leave it alone.”
That said, Holloway does hope there’s a bit of a struggle. Because, after all, what’s good television without a little relationship angst? “I hope to see them apart for awhile. I want to see the struggle, I want to see them go down their own rabbit holes,” says Holloway. “I want to see them missing each other and realizing what they missed.”

03:15 - Calendar Girl - Book Series being Adapted for Cable TV by Gossip Girl Creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage
A decade after adapting Cecily von Ziegesar Gossip Girl book series into the successful CW show, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are taking on the Calendar Girl book series. ABC Signature, ABC Studios’ cable division, has optioned Audrey Carlan’s steamy 12-book series for Schwartz and Savage’s studio-based Fake Empire to develop for television.
Launched last year by Waterhouse Press, Calendar Girl — tipped by USA Today as “the next Fifty Shades” — follows lead character Mia Saunders, who becomes a high-priced adult escort in order to pay off the gambling debts of her father. Each of the 12 books takes place in a different city with a new client during a different month of the year.
Fake Empire founders Schwartz and Savage will executive produce the project, which is out to writers. The company’s head executive Lis Rowinski will co-executive produce Calendar Girl, which was brought in by Fake Empire creative exec Lynley Bird.
Waterhouse Press launched the book series in e-format, with 2 million units sold, 1.7 million since January 1, 2016 alone. It is also available in a hard-copy format.
In addition to Gossip Girl, which she developed with Schwartz, Savage also adapted the bestselling Astronaut Wives Club by author Lily Koppel as an event series for ABC.

The Office alum Rainn Wilson and Christopher Backus are set for recurring roles on Roadies, Cameron Crowe’s hourlong Showtime comedy.
The series gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of “roadies” who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. It chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring the United States for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.
Wilson will play Bryce Newman, a famous and extremely self-important music journalist. Backus is Rick, a bass player and member of the Staton House Band.

Richard Brake (Game of Thrones) is set for a heavily recurring role on Showtime drama series Ray Donovan.
Brake will play Vlad, a dangerous and intimidating man who works for some very powerful people. Brake recurs on Game of Thrones as the King of the Whitewalkers. He also recurred on Bastard Executioner and was last seen in the films Spy and Kingsman. He’s repped by KMR and Main Title Entertainment.

02:10 - Taken - Jose Pablo Cantillo Cast as a Series Regular
The Walking Dead alum Jose Pablo Cantillo has booked a series regular role in Taken, NBC’s straight-to-series adaptation of the hit movie franchise. Written and executive produced by Alex Cary, who serves as showrunner, the Taken TV series is a modern-day prequel to the film franchise that depicts how Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) developed and sharpened his particular set of skills.
Cantillo will play Bernie, a member of Bryan’s OPCON (Operational Control) team, an elite team of operatives who take care of America’s national security emergencies on the ground. Bernie is the one in the team that does not take anything too seriously until the situation requires it. Cantillo, repped by The Kohner Agency, is known for his roles as Caesar Martinez in The Walking Dead and Hector Salazar in Sons of Anarchy. He also appeared in feature Chappie.

In the episode “Homecoming and Going,” Sam invites Ben, Riley and Danny to the Hamptons for the weekend, leaving Ben confused as to whether he wants to be with Sam or Zoey. Riley finds some old home movies of everyone in high school, but she discovers more than a trip down memory lane. Meanwhile, Bonnie is convinced that Brad has moved on, so she also moves on with another guy (guest star Jonathan Silverman), however their evening does not turn out as planned. And Tucker is excited to finally have the apartment to himself.
“Baby Daddy” stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Derek Theler, Tahj Mowry, with Melissa Peterman and Chelsea Kane. The series is created and executive produced by Dan Berendsen (“The Nine Lives of Chloe King,” “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch” and “Hannah Montana: The Movie”). “Baby Daddy” is a multi-camera comedy that shoots in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles.

02:10 - Heathers - Anthology Series Based On the Movie in Development at TV Land

TV Land has ordered a pilot script for Heathers, an anthology dark comedy series based on the cult 1988 film. Set in the present day, Heathers centers on Veronica Sawyer — the character played in the movie by Winona Ryder — who will be dealing with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. Dating a murderous psychopath and figuring out what to wear to your best friend’s suicide are typical teen problems for her. The script is written by Jason Micallef (Butter). Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment.
Heathers marks the first anthology series project for TV Land. It also marks the latest attempt to mount a Heathers TV series reboot, most notably a sequel series written by Jenny Bicks which was in the works at Bravo.

02:10 - High Rise - HBO Developing Drama Series With The Firm & The Weinstein Company
HBO has put in development drama series High Rise, from Blue Valentine co-writer Cami DeLavigne, Jeff Kwatinetz’s The Firm and The Weinstein Company.
Written by DeLavigne, High Rise is set in present day New York. It tells the story of a young, ambitious and brilliant architect who forms an unlikely bond with the daughter of a real estate tycoon. With her help, his meteoric rise through New York’s design world will be threatened by the flesh and blood ghosts of his not so distant past that come back to haunt him.
Credits on the project, which fielded interest from multiple networks, have not been finalized, but The Firm’s CEO Kwatinetz and Josh Barry are expected to executive produce alongside TWC.

The thriller, which will run for 10 episodes, got heavy promotion during the recent Oscars with a come-hither teaser showing the two leads tangoing. It’s commanding top prices from advertisers — among the most expensive this season. And it has the best timeslot in primetime, Thursdays at 10 p.m., in the heart of ABC’s powerhouse TGIT lineup, behind “Scandal.” (Not to mention it was developed by Channing Dungey, now president of ABC, in her previous role as head of the network’s drama department.)
Lisa Herdman, director of national broadcast and branded entertainment at ad agency RPA, says the show’s auspices are what matters to her. While she’s vaguely aware of the recasting, Rhimes’ imprimatur translates to one thing: ratings. “If there was a problem, they fixed it,” she says. And the scheduling, she adds, is perfect — away from the January fray, where it can now get plenty of attention from viewers, who flock to Rhimes for “good storytelling.”
Enos, long a favorite of Rhimes and Beers, was quickly cast. “She immediately got the essence of a character who’s hiding in plain sight, what happens when someone close to you betrays you,” says Beers. As a bonus, the producers later discovered the actress knows martial arts and has impressive skills as a stuntwoman. “She can run in heels like nobody’s business,” Beers adds.
The show was stuck; the network wouldn’t approve an episode-two script, and production was shut down. It was the casting of Krause — whom Rhimes says she’s “a little bit obsessed with” — that set the reboot in motion.
“It did require reshaping not just the pilot but the series itself,” says Rhimes. “Because once you have Peter Krause, you’ve got to write for him. It allowed for Mireille to have a more formidable foil. And it allowed for richer storytelling.”

22:35 - Sundance TV Acquires Italian Crime Series 'Gomorrah'

Sundance TV is bringing "Italy's answer to Breaking Bad" to stateside audiences.
The cable network has acquired the U.S. rights to the first two seasons of Gomorrah from The Weinstein Co., The Hollywood Reporter has learned. All told, the 12-episode run will premiere on Sundance in the summer.
Based on the best-selling book by journalist Roberto Saviano, the series ranks as Italy's all-time most popular TV show. The novel, which has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, inspired the 2008 feature film of the same name, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
Set in the suburbs of Naples, Gomorrah tells the inside story of the Camorra, the fierce Neapolitan crime organization. It is told through the eyes of Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D'Amore), the right hand of the clan's godfather, Pietro Savastanno (Fortunato Cerlino).
The series, acquired by The Weinstein Co., debuted to record ratings in Italy in 2014. It is produced by Sky Atlantic, Cattleya and Fandango in association with La7 and Beta Film. Stefano Bises wrote and directed the series alongside Stefano Sollima, Francesca Comencini and Claudio Cupellini. It was developed for television by Giovanni Bianconi, Bises, Leonardo Fasoli, Ludovica Rampoldi and Saviano. TWC distributes the series.
For Sundance, Gomorrah joins a roster of scripted originals that includes Hap and Leonard, The Last Panthers, Cleverman, The A Word and the fourth and final season of Rectify. The cabler also recently broadcast two seasons of French drama The Returned, which was rebooted and canceled after one low-rated season on A&E.

00:05 - Sensory - CBS Medical Pilot Rolled
CBS has pushed Sensory, its hourlong pilot from ER alum David Zabel, Scott Free Prods., CBS TV Studios and Sony TV’s TriStar Television.
The project was one of the last drama pickups this season, ordered on Feb 5. Starting from behind, the pilot had a hard time casting, leading to the decision to roll it. CBS and the producing studios intend to revisit it after the upfronts.
Written by Zabel, Sensory is inspired by the the true story of Dr. Joel Salinas, a neurologist and researcher at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. The two-hander centers around a veteran neurologist and her protégé who, like Salinas, has mirror-touch synesthesia, a neurological trait that causes him to experience other people’s sensations. Zabel executive produces with Ridley Scott and David Zucker of Scott Free Prod. and Roger Freet of Foundry Media.

Sipos is Hayley, a stunning physical therapist, she is sexually adventurous, loves Yoga and considers herself a healer. Whitmere is Dominique, a professional basketball player and a real contender for this year’s Suitor since she shares the goals and struggles of being a pro-athlete. Prasad will play London, an engineer by day with a conservative air, she is a gorgeous woman who comes on the show as a means of exploring her wilder side. Tynes will play Jameson, An attractive cop who loves her job but feels she is missing love in her life and finds a spark with the suitor.
