The Carmichael Show - Everybody Cheats - Advance Preview

The Carmichael Show returns for season two on March 9 on NBC at 10pm. If you haven’t seen this show, I absolutely recommend that you give it a try. It’s definitely one of the most relevant and funny shows on television! If you missed season one, you missed some great comedy, but you can easily pick the show up in the second season without having seen the first.

The first episode back is “Everybody Cheats.” The episode was directed by Gerry Cohen and was written by the team of series star Jerrod Carmichael and Ari Katcher. As the title suggests, the topic of conversation on the show is couples cheating.

The cast is back and in fine form. Loretta Devine is back as Jerrod’s mother Cynthia, and David Alan Grier plays his dad, Joe. Lil Rel Howery plays Jerrod’s ne-er-do-well brother Bobby. And Amber West Stevens is Jerrod’s better half Maxine.

This episode thoroughly examines the subject of cheating and gives both male and female perspectives and young versus mature perspectives. The show also manages to throw in some topical political references too!

Cynthia is faced with the dilemma of telling a friend that her husband is cheating, and Maxine has a secret. I love that Maxine provides a very different perspective on the issues than the rest of the family.

The entire cast is terrific and they carry the entire episode – no guest stars necessary here! Don’t miss this show if you’ve been looking for a new comedy that is actually funny and relevant! Check your local listings as there has been some movement in when the show will air – but you should be able to catch this episode Wednesday, March 9 at 10pm on NBC. Then the show will move to its regular night and time – Sundays at 9. Two new episodes are set to air March 13.
