The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

NOTE: The opinions expressed here are NOT those of SpoilerTV but of the Author of this Article, Marc Berman.

    Ratings Breakdown:
With “NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” in repeats, it was a clean Tuesday household overnight sweep for NBC. “The Voice” topped the night at a 7.4 rating/12 share from 8-9 p.m., followed by freshman hit “Chicago Med” (5.7/ 9) and “Chicago Fire” (5.6/10) from 9-11 p.m. Comparably, this was the first original telecast of “Chicago Med” in five weeks and it grew by 27 percent versus its prior telecast (4.4/ 7 on Feb. 23). “Chicago Fire,” meanwhile, had its best overnight household rating since Dec. 8 (6.0/11). Yes…there is every reason to believe there will be a fourth series – “Chicago Law” – in the mix next season. For more on NBC’s strategy, click here

On CBS, the aforementioned “NCIS” (#2: 6.3/10) and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#2: 5.3/ 8) encores led into 10 p.m. special “The Late Late Show Primetime Karaoke Primetime Special” at a second-place 2.9/ 5. While that trailed NBC’s competing “Chicago Fire” by 48 percent, it did beat “Beyond the Tank” on ABC (#3: 1.5/ 3) by 93 percent.

Earlier in the evening on ABC were sitcoms “Fresh Off the Boat” (#3: 3.2/ 5 at 8 p.m.) and recently introduced “The Real O’Neals” (#3: 2.6/ 4 at 8:30 p.m.) into “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at a modest 2.2/ 4 (#3) from 9-10 p.m. With 81 percent overnight household retention out of “Fresh Off the Boat,” my prediction is a second season renewal for “The Real O’Neals.”

Elsewhere, “The Flash” on The CW scored a healthy 2.4/ 4 from 8-9 p.m. (#3) into a weak 1.0/ 2 for ‘iZombie” at 9 p.m. (#5). Personally, I am not sure The CW made the right move renewing “iZombie” for next season. And Fox was off the charts with its comedy line-up of “New Girl” (#5: 1.7/ 3), a repeat of “Grandfathered” (#5: 1.0/ 2), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.5/ 2) and an encore telecast of “The Grinder” (#4t: 0.9/ 1). Of the four, only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has been officially renewed for 2016-17.
