Note: The latest Democratic Presidential Debate aired on CNN, Univision and Fusion from 9-11 p.m. ET.
NBC got over the Wednesday “hump” in winning overnight fashion despite populating the evening with a “Best of the Blind Auditions” edition of “The Voice” from 8-10 p.m. This encore telecast of “The Voice” averaged a still dominant 6.1 rating/10 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. And it led into a 2.9/ 5 (#2t) for the sophomore season-premiere of sitcom “The Carmichael Show” at 10 p.m. Comparably, “The Carmichael Show” opened one-tenth of a rating point (or four percent) above the 2.8/ 5 for its first season-ender on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at 9:30 p.m. And that 2.9 in the overnights translated into 3.80 million viewers and a 0.9 rating/3 share in adults 18-49 (based on the Live + Same Day data). In other words, this is a modest return.
An encore telecast of “The Carmichael Show” capped the night for NBC with a 2.0/ 4 at 10:30 p.m. (#3). NBC will fill the Sunday 9 p.m. hour with two episodes of “The Carmichael Show” effective this weekend.
In the specials department last night was “The Victoria’s Secret Swim Special” on CBS, which was off the charts at a mere 2.1/ 3 in the household overnights from 9-10 p.m. Comparably, this slipped from lead-in “Survivor” (#2: 5.6/ 9 from 8-9 p.m.) by a considerable 62 percent. And it led into another Wednesday 10 p.m. edition of on the fence “CSI: Cyber” at a 4.0/ 8, which managed to build by 122 percent from the 9:30 p.m. portion (1.8/ 3) of “The Victoria’s Secret Swim Special.”
In season (or series) finale news was the sophomore conclusion of ABC’s highly touted “American Crime” at an uneventful 2.8/ 5 in the household overnights at 10 p.m., which was 12 percent above the 2.5/ 5 last week. Despite a second season of low traditional ratings, the critical acclaim will likely result in a third season renewal for “American Crime.”
Earlier in the evening on ABC were repeats of sitcoms “The Middle” (#3: 3.4/ 6), “The Goldbergs” (#3: 2.9/ 5), “Modern Family” (#2: 3.2/ 5) and “black-ish” (#2: 2.9/ 5) from 8-10 p.m.
Elsewhere, Fox’s combination of freshman drama “Rosewood” and veteran “Hell’s Kitchen” scored a duplicate 2.7/ 4 in the overnights. And The CW populated this second Wednesday in March with encore telecasts of “Arrow” (#5: 0.8/ 1) and “Supernatural” (#5: 0.7/ 1).

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
