Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) discusses with his lawyer the severity of the pending lawsuit against him. Elsewhere, Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) deal with a single mother and her 6-month old, but when the baby's injuries come into question, concerns are raised. Meanwhile, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt), who is dealing with some personal issues, and Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) attend to a patient that was hit by a car, but suspicions abound when they dig deeper. Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Cruz (Joe Minoso) uncover the remains of a child inside the chimney. Subsequent information leads Severide to believe that the discovery may be linked to a case he had worked on years ago. Meanwhile, with election day nearing, Casey (Jesse Spencer) braces for the worst in his run for Alderman, prompting Dawson (Monica Raymund) to enlist the firehouse team to lend a hand to the cause.
