Grimm - Silence of the Slams + Lycanthropia - Review

After that awesome 100th episode, Grimm comes back with a new brillant one, Silence of the Slams. A local maskmaker is targeting Wesen to create Luchador masks that bestows great power to its wearer. As Nick, Hank, Monroe and Rosalee work to stop the killings, Capt. Renard considers an offer that will bring him closer to claiming his destiny. Meanwhile, Eve's further investigation of a recent incident raises new questions.

Adalind must deal with the fact that the Hexenbeist in her is coming back. When Nick comes back from Germany, she just drops the question "what if" but his answer is just "We'll deal with that." Yeah, right, pretty simple, uh?

Meanwhile, Nick is also back to work with Hank and Wu as they are investigating on a murder case. Someone has removed a man's face, like in a surgery operation. This face soon becomes a powerful and dangerous mask. There's one thing tho: never wear that mask outside the ring. Too bad the luchador guy, Goyo, is too excited and fail his promise. The power behind the mask is too much for the guy as he kills a man who provoked him in the first place. When the mask becomes part of him, it seems too late to stop him. Rosalee and Monroe discover the magic behind the mask and also inform Nick and Hank that there's a ceremony to reverse the power: la Ceremonia de Desgracia. After performing the spell, Goyo's face comes back to normal as he realizes what he has done.

Elsewhere, Eve is investigating on candidate Dixon's murder and stalks Sean Renard with Rachel to understand their intentions and their involvement with the death of the candidate. The red journalist is still pushing the Captain into her new campaign. Will she join the dark side?

In episode Lycanthropia, following a brutal attack in the woods, Nick and Hank stumble upon a terrifying Wesen disease that may be the inspiration for the modern-day werewolf myth. Meanwhile, Adalind is offered an uneasy alliance that may help her get back what she wants most. Elsewhere, Eve's investigation uncovers a surprising revelation.

Adalind meets Renard who informs her about Diana's whereabouts. The good news is: she's alive, the bad one is: the Captain learns Adalind's powers are back and asks if she told Nick. "Maybe I should live with both of you". Ops, Renard. Never  tells a woman what to do. I think Adalind is right about hiding Nick her current situation, but in the other hand, secrets are never good. In a copuple should be honesty. "Poor" Adalind, being a mother of two children with two fathers. Speaking of modern family.

The Wesen of the week involves a lycanthrope. A man has been found dead and attacked on his head. Nick and Hank ask Monroe and Rosalee for help as they suspect there must be a werewolf behind the murder. They look into one of the books, and find out this creature is a kind of Wesen - a Blutbad indeed - a genetic mutation that makes him going crazy three days a month, when the full moon rises. The main suspect is a guy named Doyle, but the gang later discovers his mother is the real lycanthrope, but she didn't know what she was doing. And then comes the battle: Monroe vs the woman. During the full contact, Wu gets attacked by the Wesen, while Nick is forced to shoot her to dead. The scene is hard to watch ad Doyle lays down and cries over his mother's body.

The end of the episode leave us with a surprised twist. After the attack in the woods, Wu notices a little scratch on his leg, and he's like who cares? Then, when the night comes, he starts sweating and there's a still the full moon outside... is he turning into something? I guess we won't have our answers very soon. Aw, Wu, after 5 seasons you should know that a scratch is Grimm is never a little scratch.
