Better Call Saul - Rebecca - Review - "You don't Save me, I Save me!"

Holy crap, Chuck was married, has no sense of humour and can't tell a joke! Well I think we all know that Chuck is a stick in the mud. Enough about Chuck, for now, how amazing Rhea Seehorn was in this episode!

Back in the 1990's yes Chuck was married, and apparently to a lovely woman. One week after Jimmy arrived in New Mexico, Chuck and Rebecca invited him over for dinner. The dinner went beautifully, Jimmy talked about his first week of work, in the mail room at H.H.M, where Jimmy mentioned he met a lot of nice guys and one nice girl, that girl turned out to be Kim. Then the classic lawyer jokes came, Jimmy and Rebecca seemed to really enjoy one another but Chuck just looked annoyed.  The best part, after Jimmy left, Chuck tried to tell his wife a sad joke, that I'm not even sure, Chuck understood the punch line.

Let's fast forward about ten years. The past couple weeks Jimmy has been trying to find a way to fix his relationship with Kim. Jimmy's lasted plan was to sue Hamlin Hamlin McGill for extortion. Kim told Jimmy that would be career suicide, she told him, even if she won, who would hire her. Which is true, any law firm would see Kim as a risky hire. Poor Jimmy, everything he has ever done was to make Kim happy. Now, she's clearly unhappy and you could see in Jimmy's eye's that it's breaking his heart. Kim however took matters into her own hands. She started to call different potential clients in hopes to get a large account. Which wasn't working out too well, but she kept plugging along until Kim's friend Paige gave her a call, and Kim nailed a quarter of million of billings. You would think this would put Kim back into the game, but Howard is stubborn and he told Kim that she has enough to do in dock review, so he's going to put someone else on the case. What a jerk!

While Kim was trying to get her career back on track, Jimmy was assigned a very annoying  "babysitter" at Davis and Main, named Erin,  even I wanted to slap her. It started with Erin proofreading Jimmy's documents, but Jimmy drew the line when Erin almost followed him into the men's bathroom at the courthouse. Speaking of the men's bathroom, Jimmy ran into his old buddy District Attorney Bill. From what it sounded like, Bill was very envy of Jimmy and his new job at Davis and Main. But on the flip side after Bill walked out the bathroom door, you could see Jimmy standing in the bathroom with the saddest look on his face. It's as if he missed his old life, before having to deal with all this drama with Chuck.

With family you never get a fresh start. Yes, Jimmy made several mistakes in the past, but he's trying to build a new life as a lawyer and with someone he loves. But all Chuck sees is "Slippin Jimmy," in fact when Kim asked Chuck if she has a future at H.H.M he started to tell Kim a story about how Jimmy stole $14,000 from their father's store. Now was the story true, we don't know. In his heart, I think Chuck believes it's true. In his mind Jimmy will never match up to what he believes to be an honest man. And by telling Kim that story it's his way of warning her not to get involved with him because Jimmy will only bring her down and break her heart.

Speaking of family, remember Hector from Breaking Bad, he's back. Hector had a little chat with Mike in the cafe about Tuco and their little run - in last week. He made Mike an offer, Hector "suggested" Mike should say that Tuco's gun belonged to Mike. Simply because sweet and caring Hector didn't want his nephew to go away for more time than he deserves, a few years, yes, to teach Tuco to respect his elders, but no more than that. Will Mike take the offer? Who Knows...
