Scene Of The Week - February 7, 2016 + POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

BABY DADDY, "Love and Carriage", February 3, 2016, Actors: Derek Theler, Chelsea Kane
The Scene: Danny's "someday" proposal
Klutzy girl:
After finally getting together, Danny proposes to Riley that they "get married someday" and she accepts. It was such an adorable scene and I'm so happy they're a couple now. Also picked by Prpleight

CHICAGO FIRE, "The Sky Is Falling", February 2, 2016, Actors: Kara Killmer, Dora Madison, The Scene: Chili breaks down and apologizes to Brett
Aimee Hicks:
This scene was the culmination of weeks of Chili spiraling out of control. After the loss of her sister Chili has gone off the rails and it’s not lost on her partner. The writers did a fantastic job of setting up the rift between these friends in the early part of the episode and then tried to mend it by thrusting them together in a powerful and epic fashion as they fought for their lives trapped inside that building. When it counted they each put aside all the drama and supported and comforted each other. All they went through led to this scene when after spending a day fighting for her life Chili was forced to confront the fact that the reason she’s been pushing Brett away is because she knows that she may be one of the few people that can help pull her out of her spiral. Brett likes to help people and Chili is well aware of that but up until this point she wasn’t prepared to ask for that help nor had any desire to receive it. Being trapped with Brett brought her to the startling realization that she did indeed need help. Whether she is ready to accept that help is yet to be seen and I predict it’ll take Brett and an intervention to get Chili the help she so desperately needs but she isn’t beyond saving. Dora was tasked with an emotional monologue filled with intense emotion and she nailed the delivery. While Kara didn’t have any lines she still played an extremely important part in the scene. While the character of Brett was there to support Chili it was Kara’s job to support Dora during an extremely vulnerable scene where she had to bare her heart and soul to the camera to get the true impact of the performance through. Kara gave Dora plenty to play off of and remained present in the scene despite not speaking a word. Just before Chili says she’s glad Brett is okay there is this brief moment when they make eye contact and that alone was a great moment of symbolism to show that their connection is still there and their partnership and friendship can still be salvaged. Kara’s performance was every bit as impactful as Dora’s and both actresses deserve recognition for this entire episode but for this scene in particular.

COLONY, "Blind Spot", February 4, 2016, Actors: Kathy Baker and more
The Scene: Phyllis asks the Red Hat in charge to kill her husband too
Darth Locke:
Phyllis asks the Red Hat in charge to kill her husband too, if they are going to kill her.

GALAVANT, "The One True King (To Unite Them All)", January 31, 2016, Actors: Timothy Omundson, Robert Lindsay, The Scene: Richard defeats Wormwood
Laura Markus:
He becomes the One True King to Rule Them All. I wasn't completely satisfied by this finale, but I was elated that King Richard finally got his big moment. And it was glorious. After having it look like Wormwood killed Tad Cooper, Richard releases his anger and is able to defeat this evil man. Everyone rejoiced, including me. Timothy Omundson was nothing short of excellent in this scene, and this show as a whole.

LUCIFER, "Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil.", February 1, 2016, Actors: Scarlett Estevez, Lauren German, Tom Ellis, The Scenes: Chloe tries to tell Trixie about Hot Tub High School & Lucifer tries to play fetch with Trixie
Aimee Hicks:
This scene was great for many reasons but mainly because of Trixie. I don’t know where they found Scarlett Estevez but this little girl is brilliant and an expert scene stealer. I’ve been a fan of Lauren’s for many years and have never seen any actor steal a scene from her until now. This was a brilliant episode but for me this scene stood out for really highlighting the mother and daughter relationship. Chloe was so nervous about telling Trixie about the movie only to find out her daughter was very familiar with the movie. As a detective Chloe should have known she couldn’t hide that movie from her daughter in the digital age but you have to commend Chloe’s level of denial for thinking she could. The moment at the end where Trixie thinks she hurt her mom was a nice touch and allowed a great moment of connection between them. Lauren is really good with Scarlett and it is so easy to buy them as mother and daughter especially in this moment when Trixie is truly afraid she hurt her mom. It was in this moment when Lauren reclaimed the scene as Chloe reassured her daughter that she was okay. In an episode full of action and demonic drama it was this quiet moment that stood out.
Prpleight: Lucifer tries to play fetch with Trixie. That little girl is simply adorable. She puts Lucifer in a bear hug that he wants no part of. In an effort to get out of the hug, he picks up her doll, throws it then tells her to fetch it. That little girl just looks at him like he is so silly it's down right adorable.

SHADES OF BLUE, "Equal and Opposite", February 4, 2016, Actors: Ray Liotta and more, The Scene: Woz's car gets stolen by Raul's men
Laura Markus:
After kissing Donnie in an empty movie theatre, Raul steals Woz's car and writes the 'f' slur all over it. With the renewal of Shades of Blue, it's important to continue praising the scenes of each episode as they come. This episode was a much needed improvement from the week before. I'm all for diving into Woz's personal life and what makes him tick. Unfortunately, Raul brought out the worst in him, and after defacing his car Woz did some unspeakable things. I can't help but feel sorry for the guy, but I also cringed at his reaction. But it was accompanied by some stellar acting from Ray Liotta, so that's something.

SUITS, "Live to Fight", February 3, 2016, Actors: Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht and more, The Scenes: The end scene & Harvey and Donna's confrontation in the past
Laura Markus:
The end scene. Just as Mike tells Rachel that he's starting to think they can win his case, Harvey comes into her office and tells him they're screwed; that Sheila came forward as the one who sold Mike out. Now Anita Gibbs can subpoena the files of Pearson Specter Litt. The episode was finally starting to wrap up and everyone was reacting differently to the news. But the fact that Mike was so relieved about helping Donna's father and the prospect of helping himself didn't work was gut wrenching to see, to say the least. Great acting by everyone, as per usual.
Laura M: Harvey and Donna's confrontations scenes in the past and in the present, both show how much they care for each other but also, that they need to work on the communication.

SUPERGIRL, "Bizarro", February 1, 2016, Actors: Melissa Benoist and more, The Scene: Kara comforts Bizarro
Aimee Hicks:
This was a truly powerful scene and it had nothing to do with action and everything to do with heart. The entire episode Bizarro was attacking Kara yet Kara wanted nothing more than to save the soul trapped within Maxwell’s creation. This moment of forgiveness and comfort was true to Kara’s character and a defining moment of this episode. Bizarro was Maxwell’s creation but Kara’s DNA and inherent kindness saved her soul in the end. Melissa did a great job establishing the character but Hope Lauren did a fantastic job mimicking Melissa’s way of moving to make the mid-episode transition seamless. It was that switch that allowed Kara and Bizarro to have this heartfelt moment. I’m sure the scene would have been great had Melissa had to play both roles but giving her an actual scene partner really elevated this scene. I do hope they bring the Bizarro story back at a later date and give the team a chance to undo the brainwashing Maxwell imposed on whoever Bizarro was before he got his hands on her. This was a fantastic scene that beautifully showed off Kara’s compassion.
Klutzy girl: This scene showed what a good person she is and how she's willing to help anybody who needs it. I'm glad she was there for Bizarro when she was hurting.

THE 100, "Ye Who Enter Here", February 4, 2016, Actors: Lindsey Morgan, Leah Gibson and more, The Scene: The destruction of Mount Weather
Justyna K:
Just when you think you know where things are going, there's an explosion that shatters it all. Here's another memorable hour of The 100 that once again proves why this show is a force to be reckoned with. The season has only just begun and we're already getting a season finale-like episode. And something tells me there's many more of them coming. As much as enjoyed other scenes of this hour (special shout-out to Bellamy and Octavia's "You'll always fit in with me" talk & Clarke's "Wanheda" entrance with the incredible music in the background), I couldn't possibly not mention this game-changing event. While everyone is rushing to stop the attack they believe will take place in Polis, one of the Ice Nation breaks into the Mount Weather and starts the self-destruct sequence, right after killing Gina. Speaking of Gina, poor girl, we didn't get to know her well, but her scenes with Bellamy and Raven were great and she certainly deserved better than that. With her last breath she tells Raven and Sinclair what happened and the two bravely go after the Grounder. Even though they manage to stop him a few seconds before the explosion there's no one in the Mountain who could stop the countdown on time. And once again, the innocent people, men, women and kids, all die in Mount Weather. All the actors did a wonderful work in that scene and Raven telling Bellamy (and everyone with him) about the attack was absolutely heartbreaking, especially thanks to the talented Lindsey Morgan's performance in that moment. I'm both scared and excited to see what happens next. Kudos to the cast & crew for that!

THE FLASH, "Fast Lane", February 2, 2016, Actors: Grant Gustin and more, The Scene: Barry convinces everyone to help Harry
Justyna K:
I've seen enough TV shows to know that almost never people reveal their secrets before it's too late, so I was surprised and glad to see Harry telling the team the truth about the deal he made with Zoom. The first reaction they had, however, almost made me regret that. And then came Barry's speech and it reminded me why the Flash quickly became one of my favorite heroes last season. Heroes try and try again, they win, lose and fall, but they always get back up. And when it comes to the people they love, they react like any other person would, they do their best to care and protect them. Harry's already made quite a few clearly bad and desperate choices. But this time, the kindness and understanding won over the hypocrisy and it was pretty inspiring to listen to Barry's speech. He tells everyone how he's not willing to give up on an entire world and how, despite everything, he can see the reason behind Harry's actions and instead of leaving him behind, chooses to help him get his daughter back. And here we go... Earth-2! Can't wait already. Kudos to cast & crew of the show for their great work!

THE GOOD WIFE, "Judged", January 31, 2016, Actors: Julianna Margulies, Cush Jumbo
The Scene: Alicia breaks down in front of Lucca
Darth Locke:
Alicia breaks down in front of Lucca and Lucca comforts her. Seriously, an Emmy Worthy scene for Julianna Margulies!!!

THE X-FILES, "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster", February 1, 2016, Actors: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, The Scenes: Mulder tries to convince Scully that Lizard Man exists & Final Scene
Laura M:
The almost soliloquy Mulder does in Scully's Motel Room, where he tries to convince her about the existence of the Lizard Man, anticipating her answers and having as a result Scully saying "That's how I like my Mulder".... That's how I like my X-files.
Darth Locke: Final Scene - Mulder and the creature part ways.
