MADDIE AND WES GROW CLOSER, ON A NEW EPISODE OF “RECOVERY ROAD,” AIRING FEBRUARY 22 ON FREEFORM

It’s time for Maddie to choose a sponsor, on an all-new episode of “Recovery Road,” airing MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST)on Freeform, the new name for ABC Family.

On a whim, Maddie chooses Cynthia to be her sponsor leading to friction with Charlotte, who starts to resent Cynthia’s place in her daughter’s life. Maddie bonds with Wes when she asks him for ideas on how to spend her time now that she’s sober. Later, they have a good sober day when they break his grandmother (guest star Jenny O’Hara) out of her nursing home for an afternoon. In hopes of saving enough money to fight for custody of her daughter, Trish starts working at Margarita’s restaurant, but things do not go smoothly. Ellie and Nyla begin to question what has been going on with Maddie. Flashbacks show the depths of Trish’s addiction to meth, and her troubled childhood.

The episode, titled “My Loose Thread,” was written by Nic Sheff and directed by David Paymer.

Based on the popular young adult novel by Blake Nelson, “Recovery Road” stars Jessica Sula (“Skins”), Sebastian de Souza (“The Borgias”), Sharon Leal (“Dreamgirls”), Alexis Carra (“Mixology”), Kyla Pratt (“Dr. Doolittle”), Daniel Franzese (“Mean Girls”) and David Witts (“EastEnders”). Bert V. Royal (“Easy A”) and Karen DiConcetto (“Ruby & The Rockits”) are executive producers, alongside Holly Sorenson (“Make It or Break It”), Danielle VonZerneck (“Left to Die”) and Craig Piligian (“Abducted: The Carlina White Story”), and Beth Miller (“Revenge of the Bridesmaids”) from Pilgrim Studios.
