Ratings Breakdown:
CBS took center stage on this first Tuesday in February care of annual special “Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials,” which topped the night at a 7.1 rating/11 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, a similar performance in the overnights last year (on Monday 1/26/15) translated into 10.83 million viewers and a 2.1 rating/6 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data.
CBS closed the night with an encore telecast of “NCIS” at a second-place 4.5/ 8 at 10 p.m.
NBC finished in the No. 2 spot overall with its combination of “Hollywood Game Night,” which slipped by 10 percent week-to-week; “Chicago Med,” which earned its second season renewal at a 5.1/ 8 at 9 p.m.; and already renewed “Chicago Fire” (#1: 5.3/ 9). As reported yesterday, all four of Dick Wolf’s current NBC dramas (including “Chicago PD” and “Law & Order: SVU”) will return in 2016-17.
In the distant No. 3 spot last night was ABC care of sitcoms “Fresh Off the Boat” (#3: 3.6/ 6) and “Muppets” (#5, series low 1.9/ 3), sophomore “Marvel’s Agent Carter” (#3: 2.0/ 3) and recent returnee “What Would You Do?” (#3: 1.6/ 3), which is a better option outside of the traditional (September to May) television season. At this point, the cancellation clock is rapidly ticking on “The Muppets,” which proves that not all series are worth revisiting. An adult version of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy…really???
Elsewhere, Fox could not compete with its recently revamped sitcom line-up of “New Girl” (#5: 2.2/ 4), “Grandfathered” (#4: 2.0/ 3), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#5: 1.7/ 3) and “The Grinder” (#4: 1.5/ 2). From an overnight ratings perspective, consider the quartet all “losers.” And “iZombie” on The CW (#5: 1.1/ 2), another question mark, slipped by a too extensive 58 percent from lead-in “The Flash” (#4: 2.6/ 4).

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
NOTE: We will open up the ratings post early so that people can chat/disqus whilst we wait for the HH, T25 Numbers and then the Early Overnight numbers as usual.
