Ratings Breakdown:
It was Tuesday household overnight business as usual, which for ABC and Fox was certainly not a good thing. “NCIS” on CBS topped the night, as always, with a solid 10.4 rating/16 share in households. And that led into a dominant 7.6/12 at 9 p.m. for spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans.” But the weak Tuesday link for the Eye net remains “Limitless” at 10 p.m., which at a second-place 3.8/ 6 trailed year-ago time period occupant “Person of Interest” (6.0/10 on 2/24/15) by 37 percent. Comparably, household retention for “Limitless” out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of “NCIS: New Orleans” (7.4/12) was only 51 percent. And “Limitless” trailed competing “Chicago Fire” on NBC (#1: 5.1/ 9) by 25 percent.
Question for CBS: Why don’t you just put “Person of Interest,” which is waiting in the wings with 13 new episodes, back in the time period?
Over at NBC, time period filler “Hollywood Game Night” finished second overall in the 8 p.m. hour at a 2.7/ 4 in households, which was eight percent above the 2.5/ 4 one week earlier. And it led into freshman “Chicago MD” at a 4.4/ 7 from 9-10 p.m., which built by a considerable 63 percent. Overnight growth for aforementioned “Chicago Fire” (#1: 5.1/ 9) out of “Chicago Med” was 16 percent.
Also in the “winners” circle last night was “The Flash” on The CW at a 2.6/ 4, which was equal to one week earlier. But a loss of 62 percent in households for lead-out ‘iZombie” at 9 p.m. (1.0/ 2) is just too severe.
Over at ABC, only sophomore sitcom “Fresh Off the Boat” continues to generate any overnight interest on Tuesday at a 3.2/ 5 at 8 p.m. Next was waiting-to-be-axed “The Muppets” at a 1.7/ 3 at 8:30 p.m., followed by two episodes of “Marvel’s Agent Carter” at an average 1.5/ 3 from 9-11 p.m. Should ABC really be working on another Marvel-themed series?
Fox, meanwhile, was virtually off the overnight charts care of comedies “New Girl” (#5: 2.0/ 3), “Grandfathered” (#2t: 1.7/ 3), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.6/ 2) and “The Grinder” (#4: 1.3/ 2). John Stamos, no doubt, will fare better this Friday on Netflix when he guest stars as Uncle Jessie on the revival of “Fuller House.”

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
NOTE: We will open up the ratings post early so that people can chat/disqus whilst we wait for the HH, T25 Numbers and then the Early Overnight numbers as usual.
