Grimm - Star Crossed - Review

Feb 14, 2016

In Star Crossed, a barbaric Wesen ritual is brought to the present and Nick, Hank and Wu are already five steps behind the serial killer. To aid in the investigation, Monroe goes undercover. Meanwhile, Hadrian's Wall's war against Black Claw intensifies as Eve uses her unique skills to interrogate a suspect.

While Nick and Adalind are still adjusting their home life with Kelly, Trubel asks the Grimm if he and the Scooby Gang want to work with Meisner and Hadrian's Wall in order to break down the Black Pawn. Anyway, Rosalee suggests they should first get some information from the group before joing them. Also Hank and Wu think the same thing. They're right. As far as they know, Meisner helped Adrian with baby Diana back in season 3 and also helped Nick's mom to escape. That's it.

The Wesen of the Week involves a creepy and barbaric Wesen ritual when a man is found killed and crucified. "Fuilcré" is the name Monroe and Rosalee use to describe this kind of sacrifice. Basically it needs 7 sacrifices - all dead men were homeless by the way - to complete a full circle, the Big Dipper. Nick and Hank investigates and interrogates a man named Mark who is accused of stealing wooden for the crosses. The man tells them about a guy who wanted to bring back Wesen culture and rituals abbandoned centuries ago. Meanwhile the numbers of sacrifices rises at 3. Of course the killing aren't random: they serve to complete the Big Dipper. Black Clawn must be behind this. Nick,
Hank and Wu continue to investigate on the fiels, while Meisner, Eve and Trubel use other skills - Eve's skills - to persuade one of the ancient culture. Of course, thing can't be simple - but this is Grimm. After Monroe goes undercover to what it seems a recruitment center, the gang learns that Mark's son has been brainwashed to commit crime. And so the other Wesens here. In the end of the day, Nick and Hank manages to stop the sixth killing and avoiding another blood massacre, but not before seeing it's started raining. Just a Wesen legend?

Notes: Rosalee keeps receiving calls from his friend Tony - a stalker, I suppose. What is this guy's problem? We ask the same question, Monroe. I'm afraid troubles are coming to Portland for this couple very soon. Meanwhile Sean Renanrd is running for mayor and everyone is happy - especially the red woman who slept in his bed. Also, after that kiss, Nick and Adalind seem to have passed the tension and feel more free to expose - did anyone see that look Nick gave Adalind when she told him more information about the Fuilcré ritual?
