Grimm - A Reptile Dysfunction - Review

Feb 7, 2016

A local legend comes back to life as Nick and Hank investigate a mysterious sighting linked to a tourist's death at a local lake. Rosalee's past comes back to haunt her. Elsewhere, Capt. Renard continues to support a candidate for mayor. Meanwhile, Nick is shown the scope of the Wesen uprising as the secret government agency takes him into the heart of their Portland operations center.

The Wesen of The Week involves a local legend named Diamond Lake. This Loch Ness monster attacked a couple and killed the husband but the wife managed to take a picture of it. Nick, Hank and Wu investigate on the case. Basically the Monster's legend has become a business for two brothers who own a shop and use this myth to draw more clients and turists. Did someone catch that little Jaws reference during the attack at the lake late at night? A young girl swims in the water, the boy jumps in it but gets killed instead. Anyway, it turns out the brothers made a deal with a local bad man, Logan, who have been played the lake Monster to scare people so the two could make money from it. Things get worse when brother and brother are put against one other and Logan gets killed by Trubel. Only she, Nick and Hank can stop the bad brother on the run but at this point it's too late: he gets shot to dead by the police.

What about Eve. Yeah, we're still talking about former Juliette. Everyone is still pretty shocked by that. Nick and Trubel visit Meisner and his whole organization, Hadrian's Wall. Nick also talks with Eve and he realizes she's not the woman he once knew. "My only regret is you didn't have a chance to bury Juliette." Ouch, too mean? I still wonder if Eve has some memories from Juliette because I mean, they can erase a person but you can't erase her memory.

Black Claw: new Nazi? I like the fact that they compared Black Claw to Hitler's massacre with jews. Basically Black Claw wants to create a world ruled by Wesens by eliminating everything else is wicked to them. In the past seasons, Grimm showed us how supernatural world can be compared to the modern world. Just think about Monroe and Rosalee's wedding and how they have been ostacolated because they aren't from the same kind of Wesens (racism). Also, can we talk about those two? It seems like their wedding problems haven't finished yet when Rosalee receives a letter from a guy from her past who will be probably come to Portland very soon. Troubles in Paradise?

We are in this together. In the end of the day, no matter what happens but the Scooby Gang can always count on each other. When Nick went to see Eve all alone, Trubel said to him she will be there, if he needs it. Lovely friendship.

Did you enjoy this episode? What do you think about Eve? Are you still calling her Juliette?
