Black Sails - XXIII - Advance Preview
20 Feb 2016
Black Sails Reviews RFBlack Sails continues this upcoming Saturday with an episode unlike no other. The battle for control over Nassau continues as new alliances are forged and shocking revelations are made known in what is an unmissable episode.
Rodgers makes himself at home in Nassau after completing his initial takeover of it. Rodgers always wanted a peaceful transition to his new position as Governor and because of Eleanor he has got that. Eleanor continues her role as Rodgers' aid and informs him to stay one step ahead of all influential and key players in Nassau, meaning he must play the game if he wants to win. He's subdued the island, but he hasn't subdued its leaders, something he must do if he wants to transform Nassau.
When Eleanor got exiled Max was placed in a position of great power and influence among the pirates, but now that Rodgers has brought civilization back to Nassau with him, that threatens to unseat her. Max won't lose all that she has gained and this episode she will fight for what is hers. Max makes a move.
Vane and Teach embark on their new life outside of Nassau. Both pirates are feared by many which is what makes this a deadly partnership for all who cross paths with them. They have no plan as to where they're going but they will sure leave their mark wherever they go. Vane also shows a rare moment of compassion when something happens that leaves him having doubts about abandoning Nassau.
Elsewhere, Jack and Anne come to terms with life on the road but a decision threatens their newfound freedom. Anne and Jack have been through a lot together but this episode will be their greatest test in their relationship. Billy Bones will offer someone some advice on leadership and Flint hatches a plan.
Also, with Ben Gunn now having joined Flint's crew and with Israel Hands also now cast for next season, we have a lot of key pirates from Treasure Island. Is it too much to ask Starz for a spin-off series based solely on Treasure Island?
A lot more happens, but that's all I'm going to give you as I don't watch to spoil anything, but below are a few dialogue teasers for you all!
"You are my father and I love you. But I do not know you"
"If he wants to sacrifice himself so that we might go free; that might be the first selfless thing he's done for our benefit since we've known him"
"You know there is always a choice to be made and you don't trust me at all"
"I will come back from the dead and lay claim to what I am owed"
"Now we go find Charles Vane"
As always, thank you for reading. Don't forget to tune in this Saturday for the fifth episode of Black Sails!
