Black Sails - XXI - Advance Preview
6 Feb 2016
Black Sails Reviews RFBlack Sails continues this upcoming Saturday with a game-changing episode that puts the entire season into motion. Battle lines are drawn, sides are been chosen.
The last episode ended with the Walrus crew stranded in the middle of the open sea after tackling their deadliest enemy yet, a ship killer. The episode picks straight up where it ended with the crew in a deteriorating state barely managing to pick themselves up to man the ship. With rations limited and too many mouths to feed, decisions will be made and Flint and Sliver will be at the center of them.
Another character pitches a plan to another in the hope that they will put them at ease by agreeing to it, but what they learn about said plan could have shocking consequences for more than one person. The only way to prevent anything bad from happening is for them to complete what they set out to do.
Jack Rackham is back. After the first two episodes saw Jack struggle with the responsibilities of managing Nassau and dealing with the Urca Gold meaning he wasn't the Jack we have grown to love over the first two seasons, he finally gets back normality. When an imminent threat becomes a known fact to all in Nassau, Jack takes charge and delivers a well thought out and idealistic plan, though his plan rests solely on the cooperation of more than one participant. Can he persuade them?
Elsewhere, one character is disgusted at the lack of respect people often show to somebody close to them, another braces themselves for what is about to happen that could leave them in a very compromising and vulnerable position. And one character changes the game when they send a message on behalf of another that could change lives forever.
Black Sails is on fine form this season introducing us to fantastic new storylines and characters but sticking close to its strengths. Season 2 blew me away with its jaw-dropping moments and whilst this season hasn't had many as of yet I have no doubt we're in for some shockers which is why I love the show so much. It's unpredictable and of the finest quality. This episode proves again why Sails is one of the smartest, creative and action packed shows on television.
A lot more happens, but that's all I'm going to give you as I don't watch to spoil anything, but below are a few dialogue teasers for you all!
"How long until they arrive here"
"How exactly did you become the one asking questions here"
"I don't seek your partnership to defend myself nor do I to seek profit"
"We have put thousands of pieces into your pockets in contemplation for the day when your cooperation is called upon; that day is today and you will answer the call"
"If you're not strong enough to do what needs to be done, then I'll do it for you"
As always, thank you for reading. Don't forget to tune in this Saturday for the third episode of Black Sails!
