Unforgettable - Game On , About Face , Bad Company, Paranoid Android - Reviews: Season 4 comes to a close

DC Reviews UnforgettableUnforgettable decided to finish off this season with a four episode event.
With this being the case I wondered what we would get to see for the end of the season and would some questions finally be answered.
Episode 410 Game on
Written By Jeff Phieffer
Directed By Kate Woods
This episode takes us in to the world of gaming and corporate espionage, Well so we believe at first but soon Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) and Al (Dylan Walsh) discover it’s not a case of tech warfare but a hidden son and jealousy.
While I guessed the murderer from the start the motives where hidden well in this episode but it lacked something other than making it a run of the mill episode for me.
Episode 411 About Face
Written By David Platt
Directed By Jacob Copithorne
While a taxi cab hitting a homeless person doesn't seem like it would be a case for Major crimes unit Carrie, Al and the rest of the team are called in as the homeless person is wearing the jacket of a missing person from six months ago.
Soon they discover the rest of the clothes along with the dead body of the missing person, a Plastic surgeon.
The murder takes them from lead to lead and I admit this one had me guessing with its very clever plan. Get the plastic surgeon to change the face of the bad guy to in fact be another bad guy who we first think is just the owner of a construction company. However he is also a weapons dealer.
I admit I enjoyed this episode with its twists and turns.
Episode 412 Bad Company
Written By Bill Chais
Directed By Jamie Sheridan
Finally we find out what went off between Captain Russo (Kathy Najimy) and Al Burns.
A guy gets shot in the back and turns out he was an old CI of Al’s when he worked under the then Lieutenant Russo. The CI had left the city years earlier. He was due to give evidence in a case leading them to believe the accused could be the killer, however his alibi is confirmed.
Russo and Al discover a dirty cop from their old precinct by the the name of Tendler is out on parole. Seems Russo knew he was dirty but was unable to make it stick. Russo then planted evidence on Tendler which was from a cocaine bust of Al’s. Also the CI was coming back to give closed evidence regarding another case.
Leads including a copy of a threatening letter and emails sent from her computer are found in Russo’s apartment and she is arrested for the CI’s murder.
Tendler’s is out and saying he was wronged (I love Gary Cole and how he played this character)
Al and Carrie are convinced Russo is being framed by none other than Tendler but with Internal affairs breathing down their necks Al gets angry and quits. They find a copy of a document in Tendler’s apartment showing the letter came from Tendler’s printer. Carrie leaves him a message and they track him to his warehouse where he has kept everything from his dirty cop days.
Al is given back his badge and Carrie says she needs him to come back. Russo confesses to her crime of setting up Tendler .
I am sad to see Russo go, this is the second Capt. lost this season in Major crimes but paves the way for Al to become boss. I loved the tension they had between them but in the end Russo was only trying to do the right thing in the wrong way and not get a leg up as Al had seemed to suggest in earlier episodes.
413 Paranoid Android
Written By Spencer Hudnut
Directed By Matt Earl Beesley
Carrie kept getting flash backs that don’t appear to be as they should, leading the team to believe that her memory may have been tampered with.
A man for no reason goes on a shooting rampage and when he says the phrase “Six in a row way to go” and shots himself, Carrie flashes back to a carnival however in trying to remember the man she comes up with an image of a room.
Seems Carrie was part of a covert operation years ago and out of the group two are dead, one is a classified file in the FBI and the other has been in and out of psych wards.
Carrie tracks him down, he remembers the carnival like Carrie but he was the one who won not her and the guy at the carnival said “six in a row way to go”. Like Carrie and the other guy who shot himself he has a stuffed frog.
Al and Denny (E. J Bonilla) are checking out the rifle used in the shootings which was a prototype stolen from Langley. A rifle like that has been connected to two more shootings, a journalist who was killed and senator who was seriously injured. Both could lead to a conspiracy but the shooter who started off the investigation was shooting in a warehouse it doesn’t fit??
They find the killers in those shootings had no reason to shot anyone had the same mind control drug in their systems and shot themselves afterwards.
Jay (James Hiroyuki Liao) has worked his magic on the closed FBI file. The person Carrie was looking into was in the scientific intelligence division of the CIA (I am thinking call Mulder and Scully on this one). He worked on a project about mind control to make agents. Seems the project was shut down, Carrie doesn’t believe it. Jay shows her the pictures of doctors involved in the project and one was working at the carnival.
They find the doctor’s basement office, seems he has activated another killer. Carrie keeps getting flashes but can’t make sense of them.
Seems the first shooter messed up the dates due to head injury. They now know it is all connected to a senator in town, who is about to open a very sensitive investigation, looks like being the target.
Al goes and talks to Russo who it seems they are trying to get reinstated. He asks for her help to stop the senator appearing but despite her warnings she cannot get the Senator to stop appearing.
Carrie is checking over the footage from the office to see if she can find their shooter, she sees something but gets a phone call saying “six in a row way to go” and leaves.
Al checks the footage and see’s she had it paused on the image of her entering the building and realises she has been activated.
Al finds her and talks her round , Carrie remembers everything that happened, there was no carnival but a Doctor who was able to control her and the others.
They almost kiss but are once again interrupted so go outside to talk.
Al confesses to Carrie he still loves her and always has, something we have all seen throughout the past four seasons.
However the course of true love never runs smooth and Al is shot just as Carrie is about to say it back.
The finale was very gripping and more X-files than Unforgettable leaving us with the cliff hanger of will Al make it!!!
So do you think Unforgettable will make it to a fifth season and will we learn of Al's fate.
