The series — based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling trilogy — has tapped Michael Cassidy, Spencer Garrett, David Call, Kacey Rohl, Tembi Locke, and Hiro Kanagawa for recurring roles, EW has learned exclusively.
Cassidy (Men at Work) will play James, Julia’s boyfriend and Quentin’s long-time BFF.
Garrett (Aquarius, Satisfaction) will play Ted Coldwater, Quentin’s father.
Call (Smash) and Rohl (Hannibal), will play Pete and Marina, respectively, confidants who welcome Julia into a clandestine underworld to develop her latent skills.
Locke (Eureka) will play Dr. London, Quentin’s doctor at the psychiatric hospital.
Kanagawa (iZombie) will play Brakebills’ Professor March, one of many teachers guiding the students through their magical education.
