Second Chance is getting another shot on Friday nights.
The low-rated freshman drama, which has not managed to retain much of its American Idol lead-in on its first two Wednesday nights, is losing the time slot to Hell's Kitchen. The Frankenstein-inspired drama averaged just a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers during its second episode. It will now air Fridays at 9 p.m.
Effective next Wednesday, Jan. 27, its old time slot will belong to Gordon Ramsay's original culinary competition.
It's not altogether bad news for Second Chance. New lead-in MasterChef Jr. has a dependable audience, but it's nothing compared to American Idol's. Fox has a deeper midseason bench than it did in the fall, one reason why the network is probably keen to pull the trigger on the move this quickly. (Monday drama Minority Report languished in its original hour for the entire nine-episode run.)
Second Chance, executive produced by Howard Gordon and Rand Ravich, will air on Fridays effective Jan. 29.
