    Ratings Breakdown:
Despite airing all repeats, CBS led the Tuesday household overnights care of its combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 7.3 rating/11 share), “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 5.6/ 9) and freshman drama “Limitless” (#2: 3.0/ 5). But NBC is the network to beat in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics) with its line-up of “Hollywood Game Night” (#2: 3.2/ 5), sure-to-be renewed freshman “Chicago Med” (#2: 5.1/ 8) and “Chicago Fire” (#1: 5.5/10). Like “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD,” the shelf life for “Chicago Med” is unlimited.

In season-premiere news, “What Would You Do?” on ABC, normally a late spring returnee, finished a distant third in the 10 p.m. hour with a 1.9/ 3 in the household overnights. Lead-in “Marvel’s Agent Carter” did not help support the show, also with a 1.9/ 3 at 9 p.m. Comparably, the 2.1 household rating for “Marvel’s Agent Carter” in the overnights last week for its two-hour return only translated into 3.18 million viewers and a 0.9 rating/3 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data.

Earlier in the evening on ABC were encore telecasts of sitcoms “Fresh Off the Boat” (#4: 2.4/ 4) and disappointing “The Muppets” (#5: 1.4/ 2) from 8-9 p.m. Chances of a second season of “The Muppets” is nil.

Over at Fox, the overnight interest remains limited in the revamped 8-10 p.m. sitcom combination of “New Girl” (#5: 2.1/ 3), “Grandfathered” (#4: 1.9/ 3), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.9/ 3) and “The Grinder” (#4: 1.5/ 2). And The CW capped off the night with a third-place 2.6/ 4 for “The Flash” into a 1.2/ 2 (#5) for an encore telecast of the pilot episode of “D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow.”

  • About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below).
