    Ratings Breakdown
It was all about Fox, of course, which is approximate due to the live nature of the Arizona Cardinals at the Carolina Panthers on the NFC Championship Game. The highly anticipated match up scored an estimated 27.3 rating/43 share in the household overnights from 7-10:15 p.m. And it led into an approximate 20.5/30 for post-game “The OT” from 9:45-10:15 p.m.

Given the lead-in support, there was every reason to expect ample sampling for the return of “The X-Files,” which scored an estimated 11.1/18 from 10:15-11:15 p.m. A more valid test for “The X-Files,” of course, will be its 8 p.m. time period debut this evening into new drama “Lucifer.” But Fox accomplished exactly what it was looking for with “The X-Files” revival: huge sampling.

Elsewhere, older-skewing CBS got some traction in the household overnights despite the severity of the competition care of a two-hour edition of “60 Minutes” (6.8/10 from 7-9 p.m.) and encore telecasts of “Madam Secretary” (#2: 3.7/ 6) and “NCIS” (#2: 3.9/ 7) from 9-11 p.m. NBC opened with “Dateline” at a 2.5/ 3 (#3t) at 7 p.m. into a repeat of 2011 theatrical “Bridesmaids” (1.8/ 3 from 8-11 p.m.). And ABC populated the night with a repeat of veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#3t, 2.5/ 3 at 7 p.m.), Sunday 8 p.m. time period filler “Galavant” (#4: 1.3/ 2), and the two-hour encore telecast of the second season-premiere of “Marvel’s Agent Carter” (#4: 0.9/ 2 from 9-11 p.m.).
