Grimm - Eve of Destruction - Review

Jan 31, 2016

Previously on Grimm: Chavez tells Nick "They're coming" which means a war is coming between Wesens; also Adalind and Meisner kinda 'meet' and Juliette is still alive! But wait... is she or not?

When Grimm returns with episode Eve of Distruction, Nick (David Giuntoli) and the gang are still reeling from the scope of the ambush and the surprise return of “Juliette” (Bitsie Tulloch), but not everything is as it seems. In light of the heightened Wesen violence, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) seek answers from the Wesen Council. Meanwhile, Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) has some information for Nick that will help him get what he is looking for.

Juliette's back! Nick is shocked and confronts Trubel who kinda knew that Chavez wanted to turn a Hexenbeist into a warrior. So this happened to Juliette - she's been turned into a weapon named Eve. Anyway, Martin Meisner seems to have all the answers Nick needs. Meanwhile, the news spreads and Rosalee learns about Juliette's return.

No Wesen of The Week. But the action is focused on the Black Claw, a mysterious group made by all kinds of Wesens. They and Billie are still mad for the loss of their members (killed by Juliette/Eve in the previous episode) and they want Nick and the gang to pay for that. Rosalee contacts the Wesen Council and learns about the Black Claw. Too bad at the same time, Black Claw infiltrates the Council and kills every member during a meeting to understand this uprising war. The only survivor contacts Rosalee and tells her what happened. Things are getting worse.

What about Nick and Adalind... Things are a little more complicated right now. While Trubel escapes in the middle of the night to find answers from Meisner, Nick and Adalind are left alone. They have a chat about what happened in the past, the chance of normal life he could have had with Juliette and how Kelly sorta change their life and bought them together. And at that point they share a kiss. Now it's obvious they have feelings for each other. Rising up a child together complicated things. But right now they just can't go to this road. Not with a war coming. I wonder if they will be able to stay away from each other during this period.

Nick Meets Eve. "My name isn't Juliette. They call me Eve." Trubel comes back and she has answers: Nick must confront Juliette or whoever she is. Anyway, their reunion at the restaurant doesn't go as they expected. Nick is still freaking out, trying to figure it out what happened to the woman he once loved. So she started to explain how Hadrian's Wall saved her and how they need him - he's an asset. Eve is a Hell of a Hexenbeist right now! See how she fights and kills the three Black Claw men sitting at the restaurant. Of course she's not the woman Nick knew. Except for the memories.

Could this little issue create troubles for Nick and Adalind's new connection? What about Meisner who still shows to think about Adalind and that night he helped her with baby Diana? I'm sure a triangle is coming, so it's a war. What do you think? Share your comments below.
