Thanks to Elhar for the heads up.
THE WINDS OF WINTER is not finished.
Believe me, it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You're disappointed, and you're not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed... but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me. For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, "I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER" on or before the last day of 2015.
But the book's not done.
Nor is it likely to be finished tomorrow, or next week. Yes, there's a lot written. Hundreds of pages. Dozens of chapters. (Those 'no pages done' reports were insane, the usual garbage internet journalism that I have learned to despise). But there's also a lot still left to write. I am months away still... and that's if the writing goes well. (Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't.) Chapters still to write, of course... but also rewriting. I always do a lot of rewriting, sometimes just polishing, sometimes pretty major restructures.

9:30 - Happy Endings - All 57 Episodes Now Available On Hulu
Dedicated fans of the TV series Happy Endings didn’t get one of their own when ABC decided back in 2013 not to renew the show for a fourth season. And rekindled hopes were dashed Sony TV’s negotiations to shift the show to USA didn’t work out. Sorta like some relationships. VH1 airs episodes of the show but it’s just not … enough, somehow. Sorta like some relationships. Happily, BuzzFeed’s @Jarettsays there is a solution.
No, the cast isn’t re-assembling for a reboot. But the original three seasons have landed on Hulu, where all 57 episodes are available for binging or whatever viewing habits apply. Happy Endings starred Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Adam Pally, Damon Wayans Jr. and Casey Wilson as a group of friends committed to stick together, come what may — breakups, seemingly inconsequential but oddly compelling situations, whatever. Even though the cast has moved on in the real world, they’re all here. Or rather there, on Hulu.

16:05 - Elementary - Betty Gilpin Cast as Sherlock's Love InterestEW has learned exclusively that Betty Gilpin has landed an arc on Elementary as a potential love interest for the dogged detective — and we have the first look!
The Nurse Jackie star will play Fiona Helbron, a brilliant and socially awkward software engineer, who meets Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Joan (Lucy Liu) during a murder investigation. Fiona describes herself as “neuro-atypical,” though others might identify her as a high-functioning autistic. She has a hard time reading people, rigidly adheres to rules, and can’t lie.
Unsurprisingly, Fiona also has a lot in common with Sherlock — both are odd but gifted people navigating life on their own terms; kindred spirits who find themselves drawn to each other.
Gilpin will first appear in the episode slated for Jan. 21, and will return in at least one other episode.
