    -Ratings Breakdown:
Minus original competition from CBS, dominant NBC stood well above the competition on this first Tuesday in December (and first night of the month) with its combination of “The Voice” (#1: for the night – 8.1 rating/13 share in households), week three of “Chicago Med” (6.5/10) and “Chicago Fire” (#1: 5.8/10). Comparably, “Chicago Med” at 9 p.m. rose from its first (5.7/ 9 on Nov. 17) and second (4.8/ 8 on Nov. 24) telecasts by 35 percent and 14 percent, respectively. Consider this yet another success for Dick Wolf and company.

On CBS, beloved annual holiday special “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” had its first airing this season and it scored a respectable 5.0/ 8 in the household overnights from 8-9 p.m. As always, you can expect definite interest in the key young adult demos. And “Rudolph” led into encore telecasts of “Limitless” (#2: 3.1/ 5), which has been renewed for the full season, and “NCIS: New Orleans” (#2: 3.5/ 6) from 9-11 p.m.

Elsewhere, there was considerable year-to-year overnight household erosion. ABC, which featured the live two-hour “Dancing With the Stars” fall finale last week, aired its regular Tuesday rotation of sitcoms “The Muppets” (#3: 2.8/ 4) and “Fresh Off the Boat” (#3t, 2.6/ 4), three-year-old “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” (#3: 2.7/ 4), and a repeat of “Shark Tank” (#3: 1.9/ 3). Former Tuesday 10 p.m. time period occupant “Wicked City” was the first new series cancellation of the season.

Fox could not compete with its soon-to-be revamped line-up of comedies “Grandfathered” (#5: 2.2/ 4) and “The Grinder” (#5: 1.8/ 3) and social media magnet “Scream Queens” (#4: 1.7/ 3), which could be the definition of the new breed of “hit.” And ‘iZombie” on The CW (#5: 1.0/ 2 at 9 p.m.) dipped by a significant 63 percent from lead-in “The Flash” (#4: 2.7/ 4).
