Madam Secretary - The Greater Good (Winter Finale) - Advance Preview and Teasers: "A big cliffhanger"
11 Dec 2015
DV Madam Secretary ReviewsMadam Secretary airs its winter finale this Sunday. Even though the show will only be on hiatus for four weeks, I still consider this a finale since the episode ends in quite a big cliffhanger.
After the last episode ended with the US shooting down Russian planes over the Ukraine, it is now safe to say the US is in a shooting war with Russia. The US has control over the air, but Maria Ostrov is convinced she can still fight this battle on the ground. However, to prevent further bloodshed, Elizabeth wants Dalton to consider negotiating with Russia. Dalton is initially reluctant and thinks he can win this war, but he eventually agrees to sit around the table with President Ostrov.
That means everything is on the table to make sure a deal will be made. In fact, Bess has her staff do a quick background check on Maria Ostrov. In the process, we learn about who she was before she became Russia's First Lady. Also, the staff finds something that may help or hinder the peace talks between the US and Russia.
A few other teasers from "The Greater Good":
-We will find out what happened to Dmitri after the blackout in Moscow.
-Despite being the winter finale, this episode is also a bit of a Christmas episode. Safe to say that Christmas won't be the main focus of the hour, but we will see the Christmas tree in the McCord house.
-Additionally, we will learn that one of the McCord children has a new love interest.
-There is a nice conversation between Henry and Jane Fellows when they talk about humanity in their line of work.
-The episode ends in a cliffhanger and it won't be small one. This will be a season finale like cliffhanger. I am really glad we only have a four-week break.
"The Greater Good" airs this Sunday at 8/7c. Watch a promo for the episode below.
