The CW’s ever-growing DC Comics universe just got a lot more animated!
After voicing the character of Vixen in the CW Seed’s cartoon web series of the same name this summer, actress Megalyn Echikunwoke is set to unleash the comic-book character—whose non-hero name is Mari McCabe—on Arrow, TVInsider.com has learned exclusively.
"We’re not only thrilled to be further expanding our DC television universe by bringing in the live-action incarnation of the CW Seed hit, Vixen, we’re immensely excited that Megalyn will be revisiting her role as Mari McCabe,” says Marc Guggenheim, executive producer of both shows.
Given that the African orphan who inherited the ability to mimic any animal has already interacted with Arrowverse regulars like Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in her animated form, we can’t wait to see her take on the Star City scene when Detroit-based badass turns up in the season’s 15th episode, tentatively scheduled to air on February 24. Fingers crossed she at least offers Laurel (Katie Cassidy) a few tips for mastering that Black Canary bird call without the high-tech help.
