This 6 th season of The Walking Dead has been the best season yet ! The first four episodes were just amazing hours of television, and this week new episode, titled "Now", airing this Sunday on AMC and next Monday on FOX in the UK, will continue down this path.
The show has now reached a constant level of high quality, perfectly balancing the appearances of each character (okay I’m missing a bit Daryl and Carol….) and mostly thanks to Gimple, The Walking Dead has finally found the perfect way to tell its story.
Last week episode was just sublime. It was very different but it felt good to be away for the crazy apocalypse and to find out more about Morgan’s past and to reflect on humanity and what makes us special as human being. This week episode, "Now", is very different from last week, of course. The focus will be back to Alexandria and the aftermath of the wolves attack.
The Alexandrians aren’t used to violence, fights and deaths (and walkers). They had lived in their bubble for so long but Rick came and totally blew that away. He had to kill one of them inf ront of everyone and then the wolves attacked them. The Alexandrians have to face the reality of the world now. Rick and his group already know about it, they have faced it and we have watched them suffer and lose. Now, it will be time for the Alexandrians to learn that hard lesson.
Here are some teasers about "Now" :
- More than the wolves, the Alexandrians will have something bigger to worry about. A lot of walkers from the herd are coming to Alexandria. Okay the walls are stronger but can it be called safe zone when there are walkers around it ?
- The wolf, that Carol shot but didn’t kill, will be back.
- Denise will express his doubts and fears of being the doctor in charge of the safe zone. It is a huge responsibility and she wasn’t ready to take it but luckily for her, she will find an ally who will help her.
- There will be a big revelation about a character !
- Last week cliffhanger (was it really Rick shouting “open the gates !!” ?) will be resolved quickly in the episode.
- Deanna and Spencer will have a harsh conversation, mother to son.
- Two characters will decide to go on a mission to look for (and rescue ?) Glenn ! One male, one female, guess who ? And it’s not who you think it’s (at least for one of them)
- Some Alexandrians will suffer psychologically from the aftermath of the attack. It has rocked their world, and they will have a hard time accepting and realizing what happened. But some others won’t have that problem.
- There will two kisses ! Such a romantic episode. And, one kiss will be their first.
- There is a secret underground passage in Alexandria ! And some characters will use it.
- "Now" will feature the most disgusting and horrifying kind of walkers I’ve ever seen in The Walking Dead. Even cooler than the fire walkers or tree walker. They’re just… Eww.
- Carl will get into a small fight… It’ll be actually quite funny.
- Someone will bake cookies ! Personally, I wouldn't do it after what happened the last Carol cooked...
- Maggie’s picture that was burnt last season will be mentioned.
- An Alexandrian will make a powerful speech after killing off a walker and another one will make a great speech too. There are some very interesting character in that zone.
- All the characters outside of Alexandria will be mentioned several times during "Now". And the characters are also debating like us whether Nicolas and Glenn are alive or not. Well, we are sure about Nicolas
- One scene will demonstrate how bad and totally out of the zombie world some Alexandrian can be. One of them will od nothing no one in Rick's group would... Or maybe Gabriel.
- Tovah Feldshuh will be extraordinary in "Now". She portrays Deanna with such intensity and perfection. She’s really the highlight of the episode for me.
"Now" is another excellent and exciting episode. It’ll focus more on the Alexandrians and it’s time to learn more about them. Watching the hard confrontation to the new violent, scary and dangerous world they live in will be very interesting. But surprisingly, it will be a very positive episode. Hope will be one of the main theme of the episode, it’s one of the things that makes us human and also, it’s one of the few things the characters can afford now.
Are you excited about "Now" ? Do you think the Glenn’s question will be finally answered ? Don’t miss the newt Walking Dead, this Sunday on AMC and next Monday on FOX in the UK ! Hit the comments !
And finally the quote game is back this week ! Guess which characters will say those quotes ! (Each quote is from a different character)
1- "If we don’t fight, we die"
2- "Good or lucky, it doesn’t really matter"
3- "I want to live"
4- "You just wanted to dream"
5- "It’s the end of the world"
6- "Yeah, being afraid sucks"
7- "People are dead. I was a part of that."
8- "It’s over"
9- "You need to lead them"
10- "It didn’t change up here"
